A safe place for a team to deploy and regroup, can someone please explain to me why railguns can deny that only justification?
So not only do they break the redline for the offense, they equally break it for the defense.

The constant and subtle push for no redline is just downright absurd. The desire for it blinds the objective perspective. Those safezones are needed in Dust for many reasons that outweigh the redline railgun argument.

Why be able to shoot in or out of redlines?
Can't be conjure some reason you cant' and call it good?
Did we have to conjure one about why you automatically suicide if you're in a redline not your own?
As an addendum I am a proponent of curtailing redline rails by reworking redlines after this suggestion is implemented so that the crest of mountains and other portions of the map that give an advantage are reworked so that the redline begins either behind or infront of the mountain and that there be no obvious advantages to one redline or another's "lines" for people to abuse.
That probably wasn't clear.
And it wasn't exactly novel.

Ergo
Either railguns, or redlines, or both, are broken.

Mcc emitted shield to not allow shots in/out, you have the pass the shield going into the enemy redline or out of your redline to shoot there. Or make it a DMZ.

i don't like redline campers any more than you do. BUT, its there and if its there, why wouldn't range weapons use it to it's full advantage?
Snipers and Rail Snipers suck, but if you have an extra defense mechanism to utilize, why not use it?
Also, anyone who still uses a sniper rifle when they can use a railgun is a nob!

I'm going to say I until it happens. WP only in the Warzone. No WPs for attackers in the redzone. No WPs for killing someone who has not yet exited the redzone... If you jump out and in you are fair game.
Also no passive SP if you don't at least: Get WP or Do damage and Leave the redzone |

It was like 5 times in a row lmao, and granted much of that was my fault for simply deploying in the first place (I have ISK to burn, flying is the only thing I find fun in DUST, so generally if I'm not in the sky, I'm not in DUST)
I'm uploading that match now for haha's, it just highlighted the fact that on many maps your safe deployment zone is basically denied to you thanks to a pathetic excuse for a mechanic that limits the game all the way from balance to map design.

I've suggested this before but I'm a proponent of the idea that vehicles should be immune to damage until they hit the ground, the RDV should remain destroyable. This idea came to me after another incident of my vehicle was deployed successfully only to explode upon hitting the ground...for no apparent reason. This would solve both issues ideally.

That probably wasn't clear. And it wasn't exactly novel. Been saying this, redlines sit on elevated positions, just make the redline start at a place where rails cant roll back off of ridges, in other words when you come out of the redline you should be facing up hill a bit not down off the crest, rails need work because of that obvious stupid range from the redline but other then thatmI dont give a **** who sits in the redline and snipes, those dudes never matter in a game.... Name one pc team that uses a redline sniper????? Exactly, that why they dont matter... |

Only on bridge maps are redline snipers useful...but reline rails are used EVERY competitive PC match.

I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

No, I've never once seen vehicles being called in outside of the redline. I didn't know you could do that actually.
The point here is that the redline doesn't even give you a safe place to deploy half the time, it just provides a safe place to abuse railguns and snipers from.

The redline IMO should be drawn to allow people who have been pushed back to it to have a serious advantage there so that they can push back. I'd prefer maps incentivized players NOT to redline because once youre at the redline THEY have the map advantages.
there's infinitely diverse (hehe) ideas that could be implemented as how as how we strengthen PUB redlines to support teams who have been redlined, but gist is that you want redlines to massively favor the team who has been redlined so that they can regroup, get vehicles safely on the ground, and begin to push.

DUST Fiend be bitching about trolling squad leaders calling orbitals on RDVs in the redline next. Or why people calling in RDVs in the red line should take no responsibility on where they are actually calling in their stuff. Or why its not fair if hes not the first to call in his rail tank. Or why Scrs are OP and sub machine guns cant kill HAV. Or some random bullshit.
