so, as far as a 'player rating system' goes... here are my thoughts.
(lifetime warpoints / lifetime skillpoints) * KDR = player rating.
mine is 0.1116
tell me yours!
and tell me how good your are, and how much you play, and stuff like that so i can mull over it. |

that's kind of why the kdr is a multiplier of a very small number. KDR doesn't count for nothing, just in that kills are lucrative on the warpoint front. |

KDR means nothing. that's kind of why the kdr is a multiplier of a very small number. KDR doesn't count for nothing, just in that kills are lucrative on the warpoint front. Actually by multiplying, you're making KDR supremely important, especially considering that KDR varies from near zero to something over 1, making the curve mostly dependent on KDR. So, while WP/SP is unlikely to ever go over 1, KDR varies by orders of magnitude. Besides that, you'd be better off leaving KDR out altogether considering it really is meaningless. Now, of course you really just have a measure of how often someone plays. So, you're equation breaks down to: time density of play * meaningless coefficient. This is why I suggest actually teaming up with someone to evaluate how good they are.
I wasn't trying to offend you by using the kdr. i'm not sure it's something you need to be overly concerned about. the kdr statistic in dust 514 is broken, as it doesn't represent kills, just casualties. that still doesn't make it unimportant in a first person shooter. this equation specifically renders a number that is basically (grind * KDR) if the amount you grind dust 514 is represented by your warpoints divided by your skillpoints. it does not represent the 'quality' of the player in any way. only how dedicated a player has been to dust 514 since they started their character. if you took a month off, your number went down. simple as that.
i'll agree that the equation would probably be a better indication of 'quality' if you add one to your kdr. if your kdr is below 1, then the equation is harsh, but it only means that second decimal is where the spread from low to high starts.
within this equation if your number is below 0.02 then you're probably very inactive, or very bad at video games. if your number is above 0.4 you're probably one of those guys who throws up 40 kill games on the regular. |

I would guess you're in the top 4 or 5 on your team most matches. |

I was editing my post too lol.
I said from the beginning this equation does not represent how good a player is, but it's still an interesting number to me. |

it kind of means you're kdr is good and you're a pretty active player. you probably get your 20 kills a match without much issue. |
