If you want to run around, and shoot people and clear corners and and get into firefights at different positions, etc, then Domination is not the game mode for you.
Every battle is just a fight for who can get the high ground. I honestly don't know how people do it. It's so boring. Just camping on area for 10+ minutes just shooting at enemies in the distance, or watching one control panel the whole game. It's so boring to do, yet every game it's all anyone wants to do. I understand how it can be a valid tactic for accomplishing what it sets out to accomplish but seriously - this is a video game, not a real war. It's boring and ruins a game mode that otherwise would be very fun.
Seriously, CCP should do something about this. Like I said before, control points should be housed or covered in some way. It's more realistic (since so many of you want to talk about realistic tactics), and this would fix the ridiculous camping that everyone loves to do. It isn't talent or 'amazing strategy' to sit in one area and shoot someone in the back as they try to hack the one control point the are required to go to. |

It isn't talent or 'amazing strategy' to sit in one area and shoot someone in the back as they try to hack the one control point the are required to go to. You are the one that chooses to camp at the objective. since you are already shooting enemy in the "distance" why do you not push forward? No Control points do not need to be housed. I have played plenty of domination where an Orbital comes at the right time clears the objective and the battle does a complete 180. Even if they was to house the objective you would still get shot in the back while hacking. Here is a tip....Do not hack the objective if you are the only one there.
Whoa, slow down there. A lot of assumptions coming from the both of you. Think for two seconds. Don't just assume things. Both of you are just assuming I hack completely regardless of anything that going on around me. First off, I never hack when I know people are camping above me. Secondly, no, I am not the one who chooses to camp. I'm a scout, and I typically run SMG or knives - so no, I don't bother shooting things off in the distance.
I'm talking about what I constantly see. Whether my team is winning or losing terribly, it's always the same thing. "Everyone just hunker down right above the objective, this is FPS gaming at it's finest". It's boring. I want to shoot and stab things, not wait until someone has a warbarge strike and hope that snuffs out all the uplinks,
Objectives should have roof's. It's not even realistic that they don't |

That's fine by me, though it does suck if you are literally the only one. Some people should stay back and guard the objective. Other should push the enemy even further from the objective. Valid strategy.

duh
If domination is king of the hill you should at least be required to stand on the hill, not on a skyscraper above it. Come on dude, you're defending playing one game mode the exact same way no matter what. Is that really what you want? How fun is that really? Variety is what keeps a game playable. Look at WoW, Elder Scrolls, Counter Strike. The way some things in Dust are is like fighting a boss in a single player game - you have to do it one way. |

I do this sometimes. This is good advice. I still prefer the feel that the SMG/Nova Knives gives me.
