On some levels, you would be correct. Folks tend to idolize athletes and celebrities more than they should. However, sports also promotes fitness and teamwork along with discipline if done correctly. Anything, regardless of whether it is video games, sex, politics, food, and sports can be taking to excessive amounts and abused if not done in moderation.
