the same controls you described could be implemented on the LAV. I mean you can do it in borderlands. |

Because i could have alot more kills if it was me driving and operating the turret. when i am driving the person that is operating the turret is always looking the other direction. forcing me to run people over. |

Do you know how a 4-wheeled vehicle goes left? It's front two tires turn to the left and all 4 wheels go forward.
I concur that you'd be able to get more kills like that. I'd never die in my rail turret LAV if I didn't have to be exposed as much as I would be on the back turret and if I could constantly move. Never dying is not a good thing for balance purposes.

Heh yeah that wouldn't make a lot of sense now would it, sorry my brain is frazzled from filling my freighter up in jita, so many numbers to crunch, I guess it would just be a recon variant, lose seats gain some bonuses towards speed and a lower profile.

I understand that in real life this could not happen..But there is alot of things that go on in dust514 that would not happen in real life...I am just saying that tankers should have to use team work like the rest of us. |

And also the gunner is much more exposed than the driver so you can shoot them more easily. Being able to control the turret from the driver's seat would remove (or at least substantially reduce) that vulnerability.

Actually if you pulled your head out of your butt for second, you'd realized that many hi-po cars are starting to come out with all wheel steering and that the are fixed-axle wheeled tanks out in the real world.
but that besides the point.
Let's leave the vehicle's drive systems alone and an jump to tech found in another vehicle: fighter jets and their helmet mounted targeting systems. If we could already why can't we do so in a game set in the future.

I kind of support this, as it means more LAVs that are a viable source of damage against my tank which I can then kill until they die for some fairly easy points, but at the same time, it'll just encourage the jihad jeep players to be douchebags even more.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

I would like an assault variant where the back turret is the old small turret from skirmish 1.0 and the driver has more cover like a metal cover to the driver seat. With bonuses similar to ass dropships you now have a sweet car. Also i could be mistaken but i believe LAV stands for light attack vehicle. So an assault variant is not a redundant acronym. |

Actually it is possible to have a turret for the driver, it would just have to be hard mounted you would have to aim it by steering the lav and it wouldn't be hard even today to mount a trigger mechanism to the steering wheel

precisely. 2 turrets.. 1 on front 1 on back...for the QQ just one on front and 3 seats. That way i can lay down covering fire for my squad when they jump out at objective. |

Yeah I don't really get this either. I don't care for tanks being one-man-armies but I don't see how this means that people should be able to operate a turret while driving a car. I don't pretend to understand exactly how a tank would work on the inside but it's much easier for me to imagine someone in the control of a tank and the turret rather than how I would manage to operate a turret while driving my car. |
