I've been toying with the PC for almost a week now and having a blast. (Pun) I know it is hard to use, but after a little trial and error I found I get it to work well with the Flaylock pistol. My question to you PCers out there though is do you think it's worth the sp to invest in higher levels, and if the ammo and reload skills are worth it. Also any fit advice would be cool. Right now I run a minmi Assault with basic plates and Extenders. What side arm do you have success with if any. Grenades? Equipment? |

I just skilled up PLC to 5 to acces the CPU-reduction skill so I could use my PLC on my logi while still bringing proto-equipment.
I'm sadly not using it on my logi anymore with the shorter TTK and other guns but I still have a MLT suit with a standard PLC (with scrambler pistol) for good fun. I just run the basic PLC with no damage mods on a MLT suit and I still do fine with it. I would just wait on 1.8 before deciding on any SP investments on it.
Switching to sidearms(like reloading) is slow as hell and will probably get you killed if you are not in cover, most PLC users also advocate to use only the PLC without relying on a sidearm to get good with it (and because of fitting cost).
You could use fluxes to take out shields and then finish them off with a PLC in case you people tend to survive your shots, you could also use locus nades as emergency (cook them!) if they try to rush you while reloading,.... it's all up to your play style.
Equipment: use nano hives as you won't have much ammo. A scanner might be fun too for long-distance shots.

Its role is weird, actually. Ever since it was released, they classed it as a CQC Anti-Infantry weapon. In 1.7, they made it so it had a 10% damage bonus VS. vehicles. So. Yea. It doesn't have a role, I guess?

Once the sidearm bug is fixed I'm thinking of using it as a 5-20m range shotgun as some of the hack sites it would be awesome to use.
The PLC has several flaws including the reload animation elbow blocking the view of the shells travel into higher elevation targets.
I'd like the plasma to have an AoE that flux damages equipment @ 2x as a side bonus so it can one shot those stupid nanohives clusters from a distance. |

With the one shot and reload, you really need to upgrade the reload spec in order for it to be more effective otherwise whatever you're trying to hit will just run away before you can load another round IMO.
As for a sidearm I'm a big proponent of the scrambler pistol, although I havent used it with the PLC. You should try it out and tell me what you think. |

I haven't seen any weapon switching glitch or delay, but I will say that the core Flaylock has helped as a finisher since the pc lacks the dmg to kill much that isn't a direct hit and I don't like the idea of waiting for the nade to cook. Added benefit of both begging to be aimed for the feet, so I don't have to readjust aim much between shots. It's shorter reload time over the pc helps too. I generally begin a fight with a pc round then empty the 4 shots from the Flaylock. I've noticed I've improved my game much, but I feel like using only the pc on a fit is a mistake that will get you killed while you're waiting for nades to cook. You vet pc users, ytry it and let me know if you agree.
Added bonus to the fit being that every kill hilariously induces rag doll physics. Plus there both underutilized. Thoughts? |

Try a commando fit with a PLC and a swarm launcher with a Nano hive. Loads of fun.
You will die, but then again, when don't ya.

Once I got an AV fit together with a PLC. I fired a test shot to see what the arc was like. When the shot finally landed, I got a headshot on some poor redberry bastard. I never fired another shot with the PLC again, so I could end my PLC career on a high note.

As it is supposedly an anti-tank weapon (splash is only like 3.57 I think) it would seem like a better idea to fit a PlasCan suit with as much other defensive stuff as possible. Sub-machs are good high ROF weapons I have gotten quite a few kills with... if I can hitthe dang guy, but I would say a medium class suit, fitted with as many armor or sshield reps as you can tote, either a Flux Gren or an AV nade sounds like a good idea, and nanohives, Prox Bombs, or even repper tool to help out your team. The rest is up to you. But yeah, I would wait until 1.8 comes out before comitting to too much upgrading towards it, as it is rumored to be altered up to make it more vehicle damaging. It's really just a short ranged direct fire arty cannon anyway. |
