Havaru Fox wrote:I would like to ask some things about EvE Orbitals, because I want to change my EvE gameplay from standing grinding (Getting a PoS close it Jita) into FW, because the whole corp standing is almost at 7.0 to caldari.
So now that i did some research on FW orbitals, i found it some things that are not 100% clear for me:
1) Where is the Dust FW going on? I know that there is a list of EvE Highsec systems that have Dust going on, while I wonder if the FW also has some core Systems or if the FW is only in contested Systems or on a random planet in the FW area
2)When i log my ship to a district, then i would be visible for anyone in the system and i would be a direct "warp to", right? Can i place a "Mobile Large Warp Distruptor" to use it like warp-bubble in Nullsec?
3) How many ships can target a district? The 3min Timer seems a bit long for me, since i have to go there and then i would have to wait as well. Only one orbital per 3min seems a bit low
best regards, Havaru Fox
I'm quite new to orbitals as well, but I'll try to answer to the best of my knowledge.
1. Same area as EVE FW (low sec). I believe dust battles are generated based on EVE plexing.
2. Yes (have lost a few ships this way), and don't know for the second question.
3. 10 ships I believe, but the number of ships will not speed up the timer. Only one can fire though, but all get LP (to some degree). 3min is not as long as you think. I dropped 5 orbitals one game (that's quite some LP)

Havaru Fox wrote: so far i see two ways: 1)warping from system to system and when i find mercs in local, then i scan for the orbital thing and warp to it. 2)be part of a alliance where someone with a keyboard will tell me where i have to go 3)public channel, while gallente could also see the calls from caldari mercs
thinking that "way 1" would be the way to go i was hoping that there is a way to limit the amount of choices.
Sadly 1 is not an option. The mercs do not change local when fighting, so the only time you see dust mercs in local is in high sec where we have our home bases.
2. Is the way to go if you don't have a custom channel with queue syncing squads. Even then it's a little tricky.
Havaru Fox wrote: i wanted to know how many ships can target the district to get the 3min timer (so there can be more then one orbital in 3min).
machs starts after 5 min i find the mercs 2mins later i'm at the district 3mins later i can send my first orbital
so 10min from only one ship is very low (since the matches are not that long), but if more then one ship can target the district then it would be fine. i think Regis Blackbird with10 ships had the answer
Well, sorry to disappoint you again You can have 10 ships connected to the districts, but you still get 1 orbital each 3min in total. But if you have 9 buddies you don't have to worry about warp disrupters |

That's easy. Go to Dust's starmap. Check which districts are owned by Caldari.
Those districts will have battles in them continuously until they (inevitably) flip to Gallente.
Pretty much what he said ^ If you want to solo OB for Caldari, this is the way to go
And trust me, apply the "Dust mentality" and stock up on cheap destroyers... You are going to loose them. Do not waist 15mil by hauling expensive cargo / equipment to a war zone.
Cheap and cheerful is my motto |
