Will you hold CCP accountable to the statement they made about releasing the CSM Minutes on Dust after New Years? We haven't received a dev blog or major update in quite some time. We don't want vague statements or promises of SoonGäó. We don't want our executive producer hiding in the shadows. We've all accepted Team True Grit is gone. CCP Games website has a bunch of openings for the Shanghai department, all in the game design department. Any one of the 3 will be acceptable:
1. Get an interview with CCP Rouge. 2. Release the minutes that were promised to us shortly after new years. 3. Get us a Dev Blog.
If you can't do any of these 3 things, one thing will be acceptable:
A post on what you are currently doing to represent the community to your best abilities.

I don't think those demands too demanding at all.
Minutes were promised to us, it's not irrational to ask the CPM to hold CCP accountable or to ask them to get the other two.
And if they can't get the other two, it's perfectly reasonable to say "what are you doing to represent the community" because I don't think anyone knows what CPM0 is doing to represent the community.

I'll just leave this here.
Basically, an entire section of the CSM8 meeting minutes are NDA'd. This is basically everything on the EVE-DUST link available to us from the CSM8 summit.

We are all aware of the NDA, but thanks for helping me make my point: Readers should expect it to be added very soon after the new year. We've had New Years and Chinese New Years pass us already, so when are these minutes that we should be expecting?

Is that a reply to my yes or no questions.
The question being will you hold CCP Accountable to their words of releasing the minutes from dust and team truegrit.
Will you talk to CCP and try to get an interview from CCP Rouge?
As for devblogs Saberwing already contacted me and said they are completing them now.

Regarding your points :
1: CCP has a plan on where and how they want CCP Rogue to reveal his grand master plan for the future of dust. The CPM has been aware of this plan for several months now and been working closely with several of the key people involved from literally the point where things were being spitballed and before they became "the plan" (This can be seen as a good sign for Rouges' view of how important the CPM can be to making a solid product)
That said, we don't entirely agree with CCP that having Rouge behind a curtain in the meantime is necessarily a good idea. We've often encouraged him to come out and associate with the public without repeating his predecessors' mistakes and have him promise the moon every time he does. Small, casual interaction so that the public can share the CPM's faith that Rouge has what it takes to make Dust successful in ways that his predecessor(s) never could.
2: Getting you the minutes would largely be a waste of time. Literally everything in them is irrelevant now, as everything in it has changed. The only thing the minutes highlight now is how backwards and unorganized things were before CCP Rouge entered the picture.
3:
I don't even know where to start with this. Getting Devblogs out of Shanghai has -always- been worse than pulling teeth. Even about awesome, good news. They just don't like telling people things. This has been an unhealthy attitude perpetrated mostly by those who dwell under the guise of "brand" and their fingerprints can be found all over most of the horrible, confusingly bad aspects of dust that have irked so many of us. So... We can't make any promises here because it's almost impossible to make headway with the people standing in our way.
Lastly:
A summary post of what we're doing right now isn't really possible. We're working closely with future release planning, but beyond that it's just a bunch of NDA stuff that sounds arrogant and haughty to mention without it seeming like we're holding it over your heads. (Some of which we beg CCP to tell you guys anyways, and others we're busy screaming and begging them not to do)
I guess the only thing that isn't NDA that we are doing right now is telling CCP that a respec with 1.8 is pretty much the best thing they could do in terms of customer satisfaction.
(I will make an effort to finish my CPM year in summary blog post I've been writing over the past little while, now that I have time again) |

Nah, Rouge is more of a caged bird yearning to be free We can hear it in his voice, we just concluded another meeting an hour ago and he's excited to get the last of his plans assembled and in working order as well as to show off the work he's done so far. Remember: Rouge is also stepping into the picture at a time where trust is at an all time low. Whether its fair to him or not, players are going to be extremely skeptical of any future plans shared, no matter how awesome they sound on paper.
Thus, the lull in communication is ultimately rooted in CCP's desire not to bull**** the community with a bunch of hype that they haven't figured a way to deliver on. The nature of the work in progress necessitates quiet until they are prepared to answer all the questions players will have. Rouge would also prefer to rebuild trust from the very beginning by sharing plans AND delivering on them in a very short time span.
I personally think this approach is admirable, and refreshingly respectful compared to CCP's handling of these matters in the past. If there were any other reason for the lack of planning being shared, anything that smacked of past behaviors repeating themselves, all of CPM0 would be standing together in outspoken and unfiltered opposition. |

I should clarify that the above statement is very specific to the larger plans affecting Dust's future, not the 1.8 details or casual chitchat stuff.
We've been hounding Saberwing daily about 1.8 news, and he in turn has been hounding the designers to get the dev blog series finalized and to get the posting started ASAP so you guys know what's coming. I know drafts are in play, but I've also been burned enough in the past that there's no way I'm going to promise anything or suggest possible dates. CCP can disappoint you themselves if they procrastinate too long. All I can say is "they're working on it."
And Nova's also absolutely correct about the more casual communication between Rouge and the public. It's important for him to have a relationship with the players, and it definitely could have started sooner. At the same time, it's also fraught with all of the risk that Rouge could get asked all kinds of super important questions that he wasn't ready to answer yet (having just been hired and needing to take the time to fully assess and evaluate where Dust is at vs where it needs to be going.) We can argue all day about whether him opening up to the players earlier but forced to give more vague answers actually builds trust or not, all I can say is that the approach here is well-intentioned. |

I can respect that stance but it does not change the fact i have zero faith in the shangi office to deliver an enjoyable experince. We have nothing to go on other than more words and a guy who came from the most hated company in the US, AND whos games lead the way for the awfull microtraction pluage sweeping the industry.
I can not overstate that 1.7 killed dust for most and 1.8 is more dreadrd than looked forword too.
We need to see sonthing from someone that shows CCP has changed if 1.8 is another cluster **** i cant see many people sticking around.
Edit to be clear: future plans are pointless at this stage if noone is left to see them and ccp simply does not have the talent to implement them

Trust cannot be built on solely good intentions, the longer CCP wait the worse off they are going to be, I'm seeing it daily, the disillusionment of players with the game, people playing for less time, not logging on at all or just to get the daily bonus, I really respect you guys (CPM0) for responding where CCP haven't I just think that's unfair that you currently take abuse/criticism/feedback when a blue tag on a thread would resolve most issues .

Wow, this has been a seriously productive thread, thank you all for posting, you've restored my confidence and trust in CCP and CPM. Casual talk with CCP ROUGE is a good idea, and it has proven to be a good idea for the CPM to do as well. You guys represent us and it means a lot to me when you take the time to respond and chat with the community. Thanks guys.

What I can appreciate is that there is communication. Whether I like or dislike the content is irrelevant next to the act of reaching out to share something. Even if details cannot be given on certain subjects a simple rehashing of personalities or an indepth explanation about a feeling or reassurance or whatever - Just a daily update on nothing really at all is better when it is explained why nothing is shared, and yet information about something else is given.
Thank you.
