TAC and Breach AR will be pretty sweet on Gallente Assaults. They get Dispersion and Kick reductions as Assault suit bonus in 1.8.

You have to remeber the TacAR ruled in a game that was much different than we have today.
You have better hit detection, so you don't have to resort to super high DPS weapons to break even. That TacAR was before the SCR even was put into the game when it ruled. Now it has competition -if it was brought back to its former self.
Its still okay to use, but 18 shots in a clip is crazy, you're forcing a reload. The SCR has to manage heat, but still has a full mag to work with, and the RR can't shoot continuously until empty.
The TacAR was a nerf I didn't agree with. It was one of those nerfs that was needed at the time perhaps because a lack of content, but now it's needed more than ever. This nerf hammer thing will only end in more FoTM garbage. We should work on buffing things to match one another but still have unique characteristics.

I agree with this, it seems like CCPs reaction to any OP weapon is to nerf it back to oblivion, why bother creating content if you're going to make it useless? The reason why the RR and to some extent the CR dominate the games is because other weapons cannot compete, take the AR for example which should your all around average weapon but it cannot compete neither in range nor damage. My suggestion would be to buff the AR range and damage a little, nerf some of the RR damage, and reduce the CR range a little bit, now all 3 weapons can compete with each other with their own strengths and weaknesses. |

That would be nice. I still like my TacAR better now then before because now it takes skill to use and it's far from easy mode to score a kill with it while in a 249 eHP scout vs all the FOTM RR CR crowd HP tanked logi or heavies

Nobody I know in this game does that.

FYI, the 4th mod takes damage from 26.38% to 29.96% -- about 3.5%. A waste of PG/CPU, and why nobody does it. |

That comes with a major sacrifice and 30% isn't likely to achieve because of the how much CPU Damage modes take. Most anybody that stacks over 2 is a scrub and is getting owned because they don't have anything to compliment on their fitting.
You won't even see 3 mod stacking in PC.
And, I'd rather someone fit a dropsuit to make their weapon powerful than the weapon being powerful all unto its own.
I'm sort of a hypocrite on this situation, as I am a SCR user. My Vizium build will pop just about everything and anything that moves. Its only counter-part is a build equal in stature (Proto assault logi, brick Gal, etc). But that's a high class fit, about as good as it can get in this game. However, that build cost me millions of SP specifically. I tried adding up one time, but never completed it, its something like 5+ million SP went into making that specific build.

Sad its what happens when ignorance declares it knows what its talking about. The RR didn't need a nerf, the ones complaining about it needed a buff in their perspective. You can't possibly talk about the RR and you mention nothing about the SCR and CR.

That's a problem with proficiency, not damage mods. Face it, you wouldn't have any problem with people stacking two damage mods for only 18% damage if it meant they were sacrificing tank.
But instead we get people that stack 15% damage AND are also able to brick tank heavily. Change proficiency to 1% per level and lower the SP costs so it isn't totally worthless to go into. Don't scapegoat damage mods when extenders and plates both outperform them in reality.

You cannot nerf Damage Mods without also nerfing Shield Extenders. The two modules are in a relative state of balance, and Shield Extenders win in a straight-up fight. (Yes, even if you have ScRs shooting at each other.)
Nerf Damage Mods, and Complex Shield Extenders will be the only hi-slot module worth equipping. And call me crazy, but I don't think shields need a nerf right now.

for like 2 weeks there was a bug that made the TAC full auto and it had 25 rounds. it was actually kind of balanced becuase you only had enough rounds to kill 1 person.
