This event is great! (but too grindy)
It feels so good to shred 5 people in a room with just a standard HMG and Templar BPO sentinel suit.
It feels so good to fight other HMG heavies and win.
HMG feels so GGRRRRRRR and completely empowering. This song totally fits.
The HMG and SCR are the 2 most fun weapons in the game that are also competent.
If we get a respec for 1.8, I'm tempted to switch my main role from Amarr mediums (assault and logi) + scrambler rifle to heavies + HMG (also maybe commando with Templar weapon BPOs), but I know it won't be a wise decision; I like to have all the options on the table before making a choice. Sure 1.8 will bring the full selection of heavies, but we will still be missing the Gallente and Amarr heavy weapons (should have been a much bigger priority than more sidearms IMO). I bet its going to take FOREEEEEVEEEEEERRRRRR for CCP to release the new heavy weapons. So yeah, for now I'm not going to fully dive in just yet, but I want to.

So far 349 HMG kills since the start of the event, not sure how many were against other heavies. There was more, but this one battle went crazy super laggy and was stuck at the victory/defeat screen so I couldn't check kills, and I had to restart Dust.

Light weapon kills don't count anyway for your kills while in heavy suit, only kills done with heavy weapons do.
Its not that much SP to raise weaponry and get a standard HMG, or you can just buy and use one without any SP from the Minmatar LP store using LP from Minmatar faction warfare.
I would think this event would be great for repair tool logis, they can rack up lots of points repairing heavies, even without any bonus rewards for it.

I find it annoying to be a heavy, they need to buff the movement speed, who wants to use a suit that has 3 low slots at proto and only 1 armor resist....just lol, and its slower
Amarr tend to be the slowest, the other heavies will be faster

Are you all seeing this? As a scout I've only ever gotten 30+ kills in one game out nearly a year of playing, and I'm pretty sure it was against a group of autistic blind children. I made an assault fit and went 24 and 0 in just an hour of playing with approx 500k SP that you start with. If I play as a scout, I'm lucky to go positive. I just 2 battles today where this one scout was completely owning everyone with his stealth hit-and-run and shotgun combination. Just because you personally don't do well as a scout does not mean scouts in general suck.
I have seen assaults or logis get 50 kills before, yet I don't see you calling them easy-mode.
This is why anecdotal evidence is not good evidence.

Now at 1,003 kills. Playing today was totally awful though.
