Well then, your child is special and should be sent immediately to a lab to be studied. They have a name for that kind of smart. It's called savant. There is another word that comes before that one I think. Anyway, look up Savant Syndrome. You'd be pleasantly surprised. And that character name. Oh Lordy! Yeah, proof right there. Rommel, you magnificent bastard, I read your book!

Sent him some millions, made him a militia tank scrub fit with a blaster, and taught him how to drop it/drive/use the modules. He warmed up after a few rounds, and then I kid you not, he went 29/1 on his last battle of the night. He is 11 years old! That is all.

Oh, and hope that my team gets crushed so my teammates spawn on them. My record thus far is just over 425k ISK)

Why in the world would you let a 7 year old play a game that is this violent? You have got to be kidding me. This game is Chutes and Ladders compared to GTA and others when it comes to violence.

And that is hard because I hate to squad up often and i'm aweful at AV. I've had success at sniping, but thats boring after a few matches. So your idea of figuring the game out is basically to immediately concede defeat and farm WPs instead? I spawned into an EU skirmish this morning with only one blue and five reds (four in same corp). The blue immediately called a dropship to a high roof and stayed there all game. I went from point to point hacking and slaughtering the enemy squad. 'We' (i.e. me) were comfortably ahead on MCC at the halfway stage. Then the redberries, instead of giving up due to their dozens of deaths to only 3 kills (2 on me, one on blueberry), realized they would win easily if they stopped moving in a squad and instead sent one guy to each objective. Sure, I killed them whenever I saw them, but I can only be in one place at once. The blueberry wouldn't come down even when it was obvious we'd win with another pair of boots of the grounds. That is how to play the game - both me and the reds. Play to win. Unfortunately there are too many players like your Kmart and my blueberry...

I'm not so much talking about the specific game described in the OP, but rather the general mindset of farming rather than going for the win (see, e.g., the game I described above). Do you really enjoy games where your team is equipment spamming or camping on roofs, rather than pushing the objectives?

I die 10 times and still come out positive in kd and isk, 100k per 10 suits. I don't die cause i suck though i die cause theres nothing but heavies out there and I'm in a basic scout with 2x sidearms. Children are immune to frustration in videogames. They will spend hours trying the most ******** things that no adult would ever think of. I grew up on videogames. I had no aversion to playing a single scenario all day long as a child. I do miss the trial and error nature of boss fights, though. The ones where you need five tries until you think you have won... Only to realize that you only reached the second phase. And then, once you finally beat them, your next encounter with the boss will be won without any effort. And I had that experience in Jet Force Gemini, a title that I would today mark as "almost totally unplayable without a guidebook". Generally, children will catch on with obscure facets far more easily than adults, because they don't have a frame of reference and instead use the brute force method.

Sure you can place all your uplinks on the point but if you don't have a fall back then anyone on your team that prefer tactics over brute force will be forced to spawn in the redline or spawn dead. I have played a match were the enemy owned the point virtually the entire game and we still won because we were able to clone them. They kept spawning on the point and did a good job of locking it down but I was able to hack there defensive CRU and it turns out they had no checkpoints. Because of this none of there team spawned anywhere else. This meant my team could just keep picking them off from all angles. If they spawned in there red line we would take the point. Eventually there uplinks died out and had no choice but to back up. By the time we took the point are MCC's armor was at 50%. There clone count....4! Assault uplinks are fine and needed but never forget the value of being able to make a tactical retreat. As far as KD/Wins being important...I'm sorry but in DUST the most important aspect is ISK/SP(winning makes it all worth it though). Logibros, for one, have been known to have low K/Ds. Does that make them bad players? No! They are easily the most valuable players on the field. I've been known to screw my own K/D for the sake of the team. Running out in front of multiple tanks, using AV Nades to slow down infantry, using my squishy body as a shield to protect friendly hackers. If you gauge my skill solely on my K/D then you would surely be missing out on having a true team player on your side. Scout Tactician Dance puppets, DANCE!

Yes, as a matter of fact it has. I start every Ambush that I play in my assault suit with a R-9 drop uplink. I run around and drop my two uplinks at the best places I can reach in a minute or less, and then look for a fight. After a few minutes it is generally clear that my team will crush the other team, that we are going to get wrecked, or that it will be a close fight. I wait until the outcome appears reasonably clear before I stop putting up a fight and start spamming uplinks. If it is going to be close or we are going to win, I keep on fighting. But when the other team is camping the spawns and my team's general routine consists of spawn-die-spawn-die-spawn-die, then I start spamming uplinks and garner some WP. Typically in the range of 2-3k (depending on if it's a 50 or 80 clone game). So yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Also for the record, I only do that during Ambush. Domination and Skirmish are two modes where I push objectives every game, for the whole game. Every time. If that matters to you.
