Forge Gun and the HMG are Heavy weapons Light weapons would be the racial rifles, MD, SL and so on (if you can fit it to a medium suit it's either a light weapon or a sidearm)
I know that. The suggestion is for Swarms as Mountable turrets on LAV's lets stay on topic.

Topic is Swarm Launchers as Mountable turrets on LAv's. Thats all Im talking about other things have Pro's and Cons.This thread is just about being able to put a swarm launcher on the turret of an LAv.With expendable ammo.Like the way Small turrets are now.Just one new turret type and only on LAV"S.
Thats the only place Im going with this.

Another eason why I think this would work is a long time ago, in closed beta CCP addressed the issue of Swarms doing damage to infantry .Basicly you can be standing right next to a tank that takes a swarm salvo and you dont take damage as the infantry guy standing there.Thats how it works now.So I dont see this being exploited like Murder taxi or anything like that .You just as the player make a decision as to what turrets you want and go from there.This turret would be Vehicle vs. Vehicle.
Its more agile than a tank and it would probably take gang tactics to take down tanks.Like a flying squadron.
This would be cool.You could harass and pusue.Which I think is kinda whats missing.

I've already stated that the LAV would be best suited for this.Its a tin can. The LAV.its light and maneuverable....a light attack vehicle.Also on the LAV the turret op is exposed.Which means he could be taken out.Where as in a Tank he isnt exposed.
The LAV is the only and best choice for this.

Another point is If this LAV were to pull up on a heavy with a forge the swarm cant lock him......its a well balanced idea.The LAV is able to be taken out by AV nades, proxies as well. Where as the Assault dropship hardly if ever gets hit by a AV nade and never gets taken out by proxies.

Only if lock-on warnings for pilots are implemented. If vehicle operators got warnings for GÇ£LockingGÇ¥, GÇ£Hostile LockGÇ¥, and GÇ£Missiles InboundGÇ¥, then it would be acceptable to widen the use of guided missiles. I think counter measures such as Flairs/decoy modules for dropships should be implemented too. Hey bro I wrote a thread about that so long ago that that the thread is probably older than you've been playing this game.Go write another one.

The LAV turrets are already plenty good at killing vehicles. Proto small missile turret works fine, so why add swarms? Plus you're taking away your infantry killing abilities by putting swarms on.

Oh, I don't doubt that at all - I'm against the idea myself because of the technicalities behind it. I'd much rather see some other things get much needed fixes than add more problems to the mix  But it's fun to imagine  One of the biggest problems on these forums is things going off topic ....this isnt a thread about Game performance issues.All the code is already there and preexisting.

I always found it rather strange that you have this open-topped vehicle that provides no armor protection to the driver or passengers what so ever yet somehow it's impossible to fire your weapon out from it.
The open topped quality would've made more sense if it was there to facilitate passengers shooting out of the vehicle. As it is now it makes no sense at all.
Not talking about massive coding or me and 6 guys in a tanked out dropship with all of them having IShukone forges or Assault mass drivers.....this is nothing like that.

Start a thread on being able to shoot Light weapons out of vehicles and I promise you I wont bother to post in yours........and I tell you why.There has already been atleast a hundred threads on that subject alone..........so go make another one.
