rubber banding is caused by "LAG SWITCHERS". The culprit will be in proximity to you, take notice of the kill feed and when switching comes and goes. I can usually spot them with my squads assistance.
the OP was not reffering to switching, but latency.
CCP needs to discriminate when latency is involved this not an MMO this is an FPS. I have a friend that is currently playing via satellite, that is at a minimum 88,000 mile trip for UDP and is fuktarded. |

I have a 72mbps fibre connection and had my first serious rubber banding in a pub for months yesterday. Was running around a yellow CRU for 10-15 seconds, wondering why I couldn't hack it or use any equipment/weapons. Then appeared back near the deploy. Pretty sure this is a server issue, everyone is complaining about bugs and lagginess. Sort it out CCP.
It is possible, and my friend is proof that CCP's servers will accept any clients UDP. It doesn't matter what is causing a client transmit latency issue the server tries to handle them instead of auto kicking the client.
my isp ping is 8ms, pings to london 100ms, Tokyo avg 200, Brazil 200ms, Ontario 80ms, Adelaide 340ms, Moscow 250ms, Iceland 79ms. OOKLA tests
so if I am, as always on the American server you quickly see the issue when ppeople join from other regions, the Canadians with their crappy 40yr old copper running DSL is bad enough, nevermind Brazil then you add 6 "nyan lag" and it is a mess.
CCP needs to segregate the regions, because FPS is time sensitive and UDP is utilized.
