The term "FoTM Scrub" refers to people who SP // XP into an item that grants an unbalanced advantage over people who don't use the same gear.
The term "FoTM" (Flavor of The Month); refers to gear that is spammed on the battlefield because it grants an unbalanced advantage over people who don't use the same gear.
An exception to the "FoTM Scrub" label is usually granted by the community if they invested SP into the gear before it became a "FoTM"
Vehicles are currently a "FoTM" and are being spammed by "FoTM Scrubs" as well. However, because of the SP refund; you would have to invest SP in order to use vehicles once more.
Because of this, anyone who has invested SP into vehicles, and/or their Core Skills is a "FoTM Scrub"

Suck on it Atiim. The problem is that the scrubs aren't speccing into tanks at all and don't need to. We sp tankers are suffering because we didn't really need to spec into them either apparently.
Stop being butthurt over tanks. They're still in the development mix. What will you complain about when you can't complain about tanks? Help us snipers and complain more about helping snipers to be a useful role, nay, an actual developed role. It's Scout Sniper. That's different from the run of the mill college tower sniper (although it's fun to play that role too, amiright?)

I flew dropships pre-1.7. I use rail tanks as counter FotM.
And to preemptively deny FotM when scouts get a buff, I've been running BPO scouts for a while now and have been meaning to skill into them eventually, and currently I can't skill into the Cal scout because of obvious reasons.
I skill into what I like, what's effective, and what's needed. Easy mode isn't part of my decision.

I'm surprised at how many ridgeline snipers I snuck up on with my Gunnlogi. I must've been as close as 5m in some cases and spent a fair amount of time trying to angle myself appropriately to get a direct hit on the sniper with my large missile turret.
Seriously people, your situational awareness is just awful. I can commonly hear other tanks before I see them while I'm driving around in my own noisy and clunky Gunnlogi.

MLT would be for newbies to get a taste of tanking. A newbie shouldn't ever be able to rival an experienced and dedicated tanker. That's the kind of Dust I learned tanking in, back when a Sagaris would only have to look at my Sica and pop me open. But I persevered because I was committed to learn.
Newbies currently have it easy-mode where they are almost as effective as dedicated tankers. The game in its current state is not weeding out the FOTMers; it's actually encouraging FOTM tanking and it is detrimental to the dedicated tanking community that stuck with tanking since closed beta.
Chromosome was near-perfect because there was no point to go into tanking unless you were absolutely committed to learn and go up against dedicated tankers that would rip you a new one.

Putting points back into what you were speced into before a respec does not make you a FoTM Scrub. Anyone who ran tanks regularly in 1.6 should be exempt from this label.
That being said, most of the good tankers I knew in 1.6 are mostly playing as Infantry now, unless the other team calls in 6 tanks and someone lights up the GÇ£batGÇ¥ signal.
Now before 1.8 hits, I just want it on record that I created my HMG Heavy in 1.3 when HMG Heavies were Under Powered. (That was before the hit point buff, and before the HMG fix.)

Never knew something that's limited in numbers could be the FoTM. 90% of both teams using the Cal Logi and Duvolle TAR are fine, and shouldn't be nerfed, but tanks actually being viable and profitable now, 7 vehicles per team, well, that must be nerfed. That's not fair.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

Now equate that to:
"HAVs being able to shrug off AV at nearly all times solo is perfectly fine, but AV being able to kill tank solo? Well, that has to be nerfed. It's not fair.

Have you ever played PC as a tanker? Going further, have you played against Pradox, Outer Heaven, or Ancient Exiles? Do you know how hard it is to try to help inside a compound? 3 forge gunners 2 tanks, and random guys throwing AV grenades.
Are you mostly in ambush since I've seen you twice in domination? Is that why you complain so much?

TBH, only money I spend on Dust anymore is when PSN gives me free cards for spending on DLC for other games. I'll take the credit they give me and spend it on AUR (which I use for mods that I plan on skilling into so I can get a feel for them).

I keep seeing you make this point about respecs so I just want to quash it right here right now
I constantly gain money but if I had a choice between paying for food for the week or buying a pair of trainers if I decided to go down the food route and then the following day that food turns out have been changed to a pair of trainers anyway

All the items bought with real life monies are a service provided and we all received the service that we paid for. The service has now changed, that doesn't justify a refund. It may makes us feel better but not much else. The booster you paid for didn't go from being a 30 day to a week, the rate at which you gain extra SP didn't change and not much has changed and what was changed will change again. Money arguments don't mean much because they delivered what was promised. And Eula clearly states that they can change anything they want. ( I am just poking at you with a stick for fun.)

i am a FOTM scrub i used the flaylock after it was nerfed and im only level 3 no prof i love it, i can only imagine how OP it must have been because i get hella kills with now. lvl 5 this week by wed means alot more flay slay kills ( once you go boom you wont get back up.

There will always be morons dumb enough to jump on the band wagon and purchase the boosters and aurum it calls for. You did it to yourselves. One of the best things about DUST is that you can buy boosters and get into stuff faster so that appeals to gamers. Another good thing is that I don't have to buy them to do the same thing and when we get a market it will be even better. Other games make you pay for perks and non paying customers don't get to do it, with CCP that isn't the case. Not all pilots are flavor chasers. Some pilots are actually good pilots who want to do that job. The other 2/3 are flavor chasers and jerks doing it because it is OP (which heavy armor isn't) and they don't have to try as hard. It is cheating by way of abusing a broken system. I have a piece of metal in my head so I don't need tinfoil. I keep seeing you make this point about respecs so I just want to quash it right here right now I constantly gain money but if I had a choice between paying for food for the week or buying a pair of trainers if I decided to go down the food route and then the following day that food turns out have been changed to a pair of trainers anyway .. not what I paid for .. I'd ask for my money back or at the very least give me what I paid for back .. if then someone then turned round to me and said sorry no refunds because I'm always gaining money and can buy food next week instead .. that would basically be a summary of your argument What are you afraid of ? Your making yourself out to be a total moron and repeating the same silly argument .. there is a reason their are so few No respecs EVAR guys around atm .. it's an absolute necessity in 1.8 .. All the items bought with real life monies are a service provided and we all received the service that we paid for. The service has now changed, that doesn't justify a refund. It may makes us feel better but not much else. The booster you paid for didn't go from being a 30 day to a week, the rate at which you gain extra SP didn't change and not much has changed and what was changed will change again. Money arguments don't mean much because they delivered what was promised. And Eula clearly states that they can change anything they want. ( I am just poking at you with a stick for fun.)

Using your point we aren't talking about the real money spent to buy boosters we are talking about SP being the equivalent of real money .. you earn SP over time (just like earning money) and you then spend it on a particular skill (making a purchase of food) if that skill is then changed to something different than what you paid for (AKA The food you purchased becoming trainers) then it is only right that you are refunded the SP invested in the item you purchased.
If it was slight changes eg the proposed nerf/buffs to weapons then okay fair enough you'd have a point but when bonuses on all suits are changing which is directly going to affect the core playstyles of those suits. Minmatar Logi losing the hack bonus (the reason most people skilled into it) and having it changed to a repair tool bonus then that completely affects the role of that suit.
I'm sorry Robot but your trying to flog a dead horse, there are far too many pro's for an SP refund than you have for not giving a refund and this is why even the most die hard anti respec people can see why an SP refund in 1.8 is a necessity , don't you think it's about time you put down your defenses and just accepted that a final 1.8 Infantry respec is needed ?
