I'm never happy to see any Dust players go. I don't care if you are a bad, shitposting, tanker, slayer logi, or thale's sniper we need players to keep Dust going. This is some sad news. I'm sorry to see your friend go.

This is something I don't understand. Why would someone delete their character in a game where SP accumulates passively 24/7 and it costs roughly $0.00/month to keep your character? Furthermore, why would you delete your character in an MMO that is expected to be patched on a semi-regular schedule. Maybe the game isn't in the condition this player wants it to be in; okay, I feel you, just take 2 - 4 months off. Check the patch notes on occasion. No need to cut off your nose to spite your face...

I don't claim to have a solution, I'm merely stating that the game is not in a good place ATM.
HAV's are a huge problem. We can agree on that. AV getting a swift kick to the groin combined with the vehicle buff in 1.7 is where all of these problems started. While CCP has released some tiny hotfixes, they haven't had the chance to release 1.8 yet. I'm going to withhold on full-on tantrum mode until they ignore the HAV issue in 1.8.
Also, taking this opportunity to state, again: WE NEED PVE. Supposing we had a PvE game mode, players would have a relatively safe place to go to avoid currently broken game mechanics like vehicles. This could help prevent the hemorrhaging of players, or at the minimum, slow the rate of hemorrhage.
