40 995 Isk per suit. So very cheap. I lost 5 suits in a game, and not only didn't I lose 1 M isk that game, I even came out With a net profit.
Slightly annoying to lose 1 vs 1 engagements vs some of the more beefy fattys but otherwise, I couldn't really tell any noteworthy difference except for all my toys (Equipments) were kind of sucky. I've een getting used to the most fanzy equipment isk can buy and, well, comapct nanohives do work but they're not exactly great...
So I Wonder, this goes for all of you not running proto in pub games, and indeed the mass of players getting butthurt of Our general use of it. If I now keep using my 41K fit, making a profit in every game, + keep ringing in PC making even more ISK. What the hell am I supposed to use all this isk for?
For the wast majority of the playerbase, using a cheap fit like this or indeed even cheaper, what do you do With Your isk? Or is it some sort of point to gathering and keeping billions? I don't get it.
And no, I can't "use it for PC" since PC is were I earn my isk and pubgames is were I've so far burnt it away by playing in a stupid manner in a 235K isk logi suit.
What the hell am I supposed to use all my isk for?
Best Idea gets a 10 M "thank you".

I said good suggestions.
Why would I like to play EVE? If I have trouble sleeping I will put on some old black and white documentary. I've been in EVE With a friends account and everything was so slow and borng, even the fights were slow and boring. I tried to ask him, "Who the best pilote in his corp was", and he said that this dude had the best ship. Yes thats fine but who's the best pilote? Who has the best aim and Control of his ship? Then he said that this dude had a sort of tracking thingy on his ship and I startd to realise that EVE isn't affected by player skill at all. Yes the co-ordination of a large fleet, ship fitting and such but when it comes Down to an actual engagement the numbers rule. In Dust you can easily take out a proto suit With a starter fit if you get the drop and knows how to aim, I've died countless times due to a militia ARs in the back. In EVE, a starter ship vs a bigger ship of an experienced player is a sure loss. You can't use Your player skill to outmanouver or outgunn a superior ship so the entire game IMO loses its fun factor.
And I'm not gonna swith from being a Assault/support player to be a vehicle player just to burn through my isk, if I actually wanted to fly I would.
And using stupid fittings like plasma cannon on a protosuit so that I will die more and become useles to my team is not gonna happen. I play to win the games I play and the difference between a 40 K isk ebhanced suit and a 240 K isk proto suit is negligeable at best.
And no, I'm not gonna keep saving isk on the off chance that this game might get good in the future. As I see it, I have enough isk to run full protosuits for the rest of my Dust career.
So, am I to conclude that protostomping is the only viable way to lose isk in this game?
And a question? How is it possible for so many players to go "broke"? I see it in local chat and on these forums, "I need isk, I'm soo poor". I mean, you can fit a 35-40 K suit thats almost as good as a 200 + K isk suit and then you should always make a profit, if not every game, at least every day of playing. I don't get it.

And yet I get several players in this thread asking for my isk which I don't need.
If you are to poor to run proto then run enhanced and problem solved.
I still don't get it. Why do you guys need the isk? What do you do With it?

And spend Close to 5 M skillpoints to make an effective character for it?
I dunno.

843-BANE wrote:I run advanced to better my gun play and tactics. A LOT of players use prototype gear as a crutch. You stick them in advanced gear and they get ****** in the ass by just about every red dot out there. People who wear proto ALL the time are probably wearing it all the time because they have to, not because they can afford it. They do it to keep their K/D shiny and fear their reputation would be sullied otherwise. Take Kalante Schiffer, now I KNOW he is probably reeling in ISK 24/7, however I only ever see him in proto gear in Pc, he still wrecks people in his ADV gear in pub matches. I try and be the same these days, and only pull proto in pubs when I really think it is necessary.
King I see you in your full proto most of the time I won't lie, and don't get me wrong I have the utmost respect for you, your corporation and your gun-play but when I've seen you in ADV gear you drop dead quick. Keep running your ADV gear or lower and actually improve your skill, stop using proto gear as a crutch even though you can afford it. That advice goes out to everyone. I have no problem with 'proto-stomping' and I never have, but for the betterment of one's self I do believe running prototype 24/7 is a very bad idea.
I don't agree. Yes I die quickly but that happens in proto aswell, we're talking about 1 extra enhanced plate, enough to tip the scale in a Close 1 vs 1 but nothing at all when facing 3+ players. I got several games With 23-1, 25-1 22-2 and the like yesterday. Moatly its still forge guns, snipers and tanks that kill me, proto doean't make any difference in that regard.
I see it more as a "crutch" for the general community. The "he used proto" crutch is all over the Place, not thinking of you personally.

sebastian the huds wrote:I thought we were trying to get him to spend more, not QQ and tell him to stop running proto. If you really want to use that isk up, do what Chicagocubs4ever is doing. Run your best squad and best gear in a factional on the losing side (caldari amd amarr) and tip the scales back in their favor. Pubs are only a small part of this game, don't spend your career there.
Yeah I've run plenty of Caldari and Amarr FW, always in proto.

John Demonsbane wrote:Since you are always bemoaning the lack of effort by players in pubs, why not start handing out ISK to those players who actually put forth the effort?
Say you win a one sided battle, there's the squad of people who give up like you mentioned in your other thread, but there's also that one poor sucker who got killed 15 times because he actually kept trying. Send a message congratulating him for his effort, and hey, here's a couple hundred thousand ISK for your trouble. Keep up the good work!
And we have a winner.

So John is a bad player? Did you kill him a lot king? I approve of giving unfortunate players some isk, but shouldn't you do that king? Or will John give the isk to poor noobs?
I said I'd give 10 M to the best suggestion, so I sent him 10 m, simple.
