DUST Has an amazing option for crafting potential and depth and with a player Market possibly in the future it would really add to things and make DUST feel more like a true FPS-MMO experience.
Blueprints are an issue for the economy we all know this. But in EVE they are merely a material list and instructions to build said items, if that concept was to mirror in DUST it could be amazing. If Blueprints where Material Lists for said items in DUST and the salvage system complimented this design, we would have a crafting system in DUST and an answer to the sandbox nature of the salvage system that leaves it generally lacking in meaning.
The Salvage System has often been sneered at or been some icing on the cake that we can't fully utilize until the player market opens up. Everyone would like salvage to be more personal, though this may create server load I am no technical wiz.. but there is an option from EVE lore that would do nothing but add to the experience in DUST.
Salvage should be Based off what you directly kill or assist with. Guns, Suits, Vehicles And Modules Are broken down to different salvageable "parts". So say CCP Rouge Kills someone with a Minmatar Medium Suit + Loadouts, He then would get a piece of salvage from The Suit and some modules that then can be combined with a BPO or BPC to craft said item.
BPO's that players have purchased previously will be Originals... Meaning they can be used to craft indefinitely giving a nice bonus to the ownership. Blueprint Copies being populated into the market giving limited crafting runs, in example increments of 1,5,10,20... Could then be purchased on the market Generated by CCP so the price can be controlled at beginning of implementation.. Of course Officer weapon BPC's could be salvaged when a player dies and combined with normal weapon salvage to craft them.
Possibly Allowing later for Planetary Conquest Owned Districts to build Research Planetary Infrastructures To Improve the Blueprint Originals to decrease the Material Costs.. And Copy Blueprint Originals To sell Blueprint Copy's on the Player Market.
I Understand this is no small request but it could be amazing and a fix for Blueprints in the future. At Very least Some Food for thought.
