If you're in a need of more effective gear, there is a solid chance you'll buy AUR items, so CCP is right when they undirectly support old PRO players instead of the new ones, who are most likely the ones who'll buy something.
If you are an hacker, a cheater o a glitcher, you deserve death. In real life.

Think about it, if you have corps exploiting PC running around in proto. It forces everyone else to buy AUR gear to compete.
If you have 6 tanks running around the map slaughtering the other side, you make less ISK and have to buy AUR gear
The most popular of the two new weapons; RR and CR. The RR became the one that will not receive a damage nerf or become hot fixed, affectivly doing the same thing as the tanks. Causing you to make less and have to resort to AUR gear.
This game is only f2p if you don't want to compete. It's ridiculous and I feel cheated. Theres your problem why the hell cant you people just play the game? why must you always feel like you need to compete. this game is not real and they can shut it down and take it all away from you in seconds. If you want to have fun stop trying to compete just enjoy the game for what it is. A normal game consists of two teams having a tea party with one another? A dance?... ermmm Blind date? I assumed they competed with one another.... but meh..

This game is only f2p if you don't want to compete. It's ridiculous and I feel cheated. I think CCP cares about balance, but that they intentionally 'test' weapons/vehicles in-game and just don't tell us, which gives the impression that they don't. For this reason, some aspect of Dust will always be 'beta' to a certain degree.
Because there is no equivalent to Eve's Sisi in Dust, the only way to test weapons in Dust on a large scale is to put them directly into the community, and gather data on their usage. Think of everything new that has been introduced, and tell me one besides the plasma cannon that has not been released OP? I think this is intentional, and they do it for 2 reasons:
1) They want to encourage a large part of the playerbase to skill into it, so that they can get data on it's usage and performance.
2) They want to quantifiably determine, with hard data, where the upper limit of the weapons "OP-ness" is, so they can use this for future balancing. Notice how the Flaylock, a brand new weapon, was OP as f***, but the RR and CR are OP, but not as much? The Flaylock was a brand new weapon, which was harder to balance... but CCP was able to balance the RR and CR rifles a little better because of their experience with the TAC (which was OP as hell), so they knew a little better where the upper limit on the RR/CR should be; that's why they are only "slighty" OP at the moment.
So basically, CCP cares about balance, but the only way to determine balance without a test server is to use the community as guinea pigs, which gives the impression they don't give a crap.

Sorry but CCP has no concept of balance. It's easy for the players to see an OP weapon, often before they release it. I haved learned this lesson about CCP... They just don't care. They can't be bothered to deal with these types of issues in any kind of hurry. How much 'data' do you need? Watch the killed in a few battles, play a couple rounds and anyone can tell which weapons are BS. Don't worry though, it'll be fixed SOON!
The mic bubble bug... I yield, CCP will be fixing it SOON. Current ETA 1 year since bug

Have read only the first page, so if someone else already answered like me...well, who cares..
If CCP purposely imbalance the game they would actually give the community a reason to spec into something (flylocks, logis, mass drivers, tanks etc), but at the same time they'd lose audience.
By the time a casual gamer play this game and see the tank spam, he's not going to grind like a no lifer to get his tank, he would just quit, or maybe wait untill a new patch. In other words, if they don't balance the game, only the well known FOTMers will keep playing till they grow tired.
It's so simple, we the players have not just one game to play, the market is full of sci-fi fps.
I haven't bought a booster since 1.4 because, seriously, why should I boost my SP gain if the game keeps being unbalanced every patch? But if it was balanced i would gladly buy a booster sometimes, or cosmetic items.

I never said they did it on purpose, I said the prefer it, and now its here there not doing much to change it because there making a killing (pun intended).

First and foremost: Before being a game developer, CCP is a BUSINESS! A business's sole intent is to provide a product, service, entertainment, or education to generate a PROFIT for the people of that business. AURUM is how DUST 514 draws revenue from its customers. Incentive needs to be given for AURUM to be used. Do they sit around and have meetings as to how they can generate more money off the playerbase? Yes they do, every business does. Eliminating BPOs, creating enormous SP gaps in skill tiers, non-segregation of newer players, and the lady in the warbarge constantly talking about buying AURUM are all efforts to increase AURUM sales for this title.
Is it evil and wrong? Depends how you look at it. But to accuse someone of wearing a tinfoil hat for pointing out the obvious of what any business does in any industry is ignorant. True, CCP isn't as evil as perhaps Big Tobacco was in the United States, but those practices and models are still applied throughout all businesses throughout the world, because they simply work.
The fact that they rushed out this game, and took 10 months since "Official Release" to put in the full array of dropsuits (Pilot Suits anyone?) should be a good indicator of how desperate they are for your money. The AURUM codes and mechanics of this game have worked flawlessly since this game's release.
However, you still have the choice to buy or not. Everyone should use it wisely.
