I think a Kill should only count if the Clone is lost.
- If a Cone is revived, neither the clone nor the suit is lost. So why should it count as a kill?
- Getting picked up, killed, picked up, and killed again is only frustrating due to what it does to your KDR. It is not like you are losing more than a single clone and suit in the process.
- It would make logi with Nanite Injectors the God Send they are supposed to be, rather than the bain of a FPS heroGÇÖs existence.
- You can insure someone you drop does not get back up by shooting them again in the head.
- I think the person who drops the clone should get +25 for Clone Incapacitation, and another +25 for Clone Kill when the clone bleeds out. (Plus squad bonuses to both.) Assists should be for contributing to Clone Incapacitation, so if you drop a clone which is then revived your stats register an assist. Head shot bonus should be added to the Clone Incapacitation portion of the WP payout. (Actually, does a Head Shot make you unrevivable? If so then they could get the full +60 in one go.)
What do you guys think? Is there any problems with this system that I am missing?
Yes I know that some weapons make a clone unrevivable the first time and others donGÇÖt, but to that I say, if they donGÇÖt loose a clone you have not killed them.

That would make more sense, from a gameplay standpoint. More importantly, it would encourage even those just obsessed with KDR to work with logistics.

Sounds legit. The WP reward from revival should be adjusted from 60 to 10 as a result though(OldRevive 60 - OldKill 50 = NewRevive). Or if as you suggest, the kill was split 50:50, it should be 30 points for a revive. |

Changes of this nature are in line with the overall game that I think Dust would like to become. I don't know the difficulty of such a change, but as other threads have pointed out it supports teamwork and outlines the benefits of waiting to get picked up - changing the efforts of a logi that fails in a rezz from one of hate to one of appreciation for the effort as it saves both the players KDR and ISK.
While I may not agree with exactly how the change should be rolled out, I fully support a change in the KDR mechanics of this nature.

I am just splitting it into +25 for incapacitation, and another +25 when the clone bleeds out. Plus squad and head shot bonuses of course.
I am not suggesting anyone get points for finishing an incapacitated clone. If someone else finishes an incapacitated clone the kill points should go to the person who dropped it.

If you incapacitate a clone and then someone else downs the clone who gets the kill added to their stats?

I see no challenge in shooting an unconscious body and see no point in rewarding such a small accomplishment. The reward should go to the person who dropped the clone when it was dancing around and shooting back.

In that case I give this whole idea a +1. I still think we need an accept revive feature though in addition to something like this.

I've seen games where finishing off the incapacitated dude gives an assist. Since the kill credit goes to the guy who incapacitated him.

plus 1.
-person that downs clone-25pts -once clone bleeds out- 25pts to player listed above -death does not count until clone is lost -accept revive function -added point, allow kill assists to count as kill based off of damage dealt, such as BF4's kill assist counts as kill i mean helI i killed a gunnlogi the other day with 1 charge up from my SCR after a corp mate hit it with a volley of missiles from his tank.
I reject you reality and substitute my own.

I have never played another FPS. Can you go into more detail on how it is done in BF4?
In EVE all contributors get a kill when a ship is destroyed, but destroying a ship in EVE is usually a team effort. Killing an individual clone in DUST feels different to me. However, in the Kill mails that EVE pilots get for a kill, while all contributors are listed, both the highest damage and killing blow are listed as separate achievements. Would you be suggesting that both the person who got the killing blow, and the person who did the most damage, should be given credit for the kill?

In bf4 the points are different each kill is based off 100pts if a person does 90somthing % of the damage they are given the kill. The person that lands only the final blow from there 1 shot is given the kill. It would be like giving the eve pilot that dealt the most damage the kill mail.
