I wish there was a no squad casual mode so that part time people like me could just hop in and play a few games.
Last month I was considering buying 30$ of AUR cause I told myself "Ah, i can get a few boosters, some cosmetically nice AUR equipment, have a bit of fun, ect". But after about 3 matches in a row where my team was locked in our spawn behind the red line, i decided not to. Why should I put money into this game? These super corps and squads are the ones having all the fun. If CCP wants money, they should get it from them.
Not everyone is out to be the "best of the best". I just want to kill a few hours here and there. Why should i have to talk to a bunch of high pitched overly excitable teenagers just so I can have the chance to leave my spawn? Im not coming to Dust cause I have no social life and want to make friends. Yet the game is made so that it forces you to do so. I cant even have a friend over at my house to play this game together, cause there is no 2 player support, but im supposed to squad up each time I play. Makes no sense.
One of the only reasons Im still drawn to this game is because of keyboard and mouse support. (ex PC gamer). If they got rid of that Id probably close my account down and never mention the game ever again. |

One day if the game actually starts to get popular and the player base grows, perhaps we will have squad and solo queues, but don't hold your breath.
It upsets me, because it says under the Public Contracts description "For small squads or lone mercenaries". Im a lone mercenary when I play most of the time, and yet i run into teams that are 12 of the same super corps.
When CCP gives me a mode that is truly, for "small squads of lone mercenaries", then Ill consider putting real money into this game. Until then though, I can just have my games ruined for free. |

"small squads or lone mercenaries" doesn't imply low SP and poorly skilled players. There's only a few game modes where do you expect everyone else to play? Join a corp, get taught how to play because new eden is not a place for lone wolfs.
Thats ok, Id rather not be like you and your corp. Just because I get locked in my redline doesnt mean i have the urge to ruin the game for other people too.
i dont mind getting defeated, I dont mind losing. Heck, yesterday I played, lost a game, but had fun the entire time. I had fun losing. Im casual. This is not about "being better".
Its about games where most of the team is hiding in the MCC running down the clock because people like you have made it unfun and unplayable for them.
And that goes for both sides. Sometimes it puts me on the stacked team, and I just sitting around doing nothing cause again, the enemy team is just hiding running down the clock.
There is a difference between "difficult" and "unplayable". Difficult means I go 1/6, but me and my team still put up a good fight even if we lost. Unplayable means hiding in the MCC because as soon as you jump from it some proto sniper kills you as soon as you hit the ground.
And again, I invite you to go ingame and read the description: "For small squads or lone mercenaries". Dont tell me there is no place for "lone mercenaries" when It infact says that as the description. |

Ive seen your corp aggressively defend their "stomping" on these forums, so the objectivity/context of your claims could also be called into doubt.
However, im not here to attempt to invalidate/discredit your opinion so that I can advance my own agenda. im just pointing out that a gameplay option describes itself as being for solo mercs, when, infact, it is often not the case.
You can defend your reasons/motives as much as you like, you are allowed to do that. However, im also allowed to come to these forums and tell CCP why im not spending any real money in this game. As a casual person, I much prefer to spend a bit of real money instead of having to grind up SP and ISK because I dont always have the time to play. I keep a credit card here on my desk. i can afford to sink money into Free to play games. But Dust in its present state, im not charging it. Why? Cause the product delivered is not living up to the product description.
CCP has the right to know what is stopping them from making more money than they are now. When they deliver a mode where I can just go in and play casually for an hour, as advertised, ill pay out of pocket for the equipment ill use. If it says "this mode is for lone mercs", i dont want to be seeing some 12 people from 1 corp BS....regardless of what team they are on.
And again, since no one reads this part of my post, ill try again --------->I find it equally unfun to be on the stacked team camping out the redline<-------------- So telling me "well go squad up" does nothing. I dont want to be the stomper anymore than to be stomped. I like a fair fun game. I know, im weird like that.
i want more balanced matches. I dont care if i win, if I lose, If my KDR goes negative, ect. I just want to be able to get out of my redline and have a good fight. Or i want the enemy to have an equal chance to fight instead of getting locked in their redline.

Ankbar Latrommi wrote:[quote=LAVALLOIS Nash] I think I'm reading you correctly to say that you want to be able to casually play a game which is as advertised, correct? Not that you want to be able to play a game casually which is what they advertised? You are totally free to shop for the experience you want(it'd be nice if that could go without saying,) and I think an FPS will be naturally more casual than a spaceship sim, but I doubt you'll ever get the full experience they advertise (when that day comes) while playing casually. It still might be enough for you, but it won't be everything. That's where I'd put my money, so to speak.
Well i do play other games. Some of them I bought outright and play and some are F2P. Most of my other F2P games are PC games anyway. Its just, I like Dust, Id like to see it grow. I know if it gets popular enough, there will be enough people for a simple "quick join" mode.
Either way, it is what it is. Im the kind of person that when im enjoying a game, ill spend on average 20-30$ every 1.5 months. Because im busy in life, I may only play up to 10 hours a week. Im also not an amazing player, so i make a good target for players of all levels.
Compare that to someone who has so much ISK that they dont put money into the game, they spend 30+ hours a week playing, and scare off new players before they have a chance to get into the game.
Im where the money is at. Im a profitable player. I spend more and play less. If CCP finds a way to get the casual market like me very interested, they might get enough funding to deliver the content people have been waiting a long time for.
