I've been using Thales intermittently in my games in the past 4 days because I noticed I had a large stock of them and had never picked one up before in all the time I played Dust. And christ almighty is it a hate generator. I generally almost never get any hatemail, but in 4 days I got 26 pieces. One guy even said he blocked me talking about video game honor or some nonsense.
I just want to say thank you all for your kind words and carry on.
Also InB4 "Why use a Thales in pub matches you scrub?!?" What's the use in having them and the skills to use them if I'm not going to use them? It's not like I'm in the %0.1 that plays PC, and there's not a whole lot else to do around here tbqh. |

Lost about 5 now I think, (one was to a suicide actually, getting out of a moving LAV that started tumbling and crushed me FML...) but I don't send hatemail, I dislike coming off as an entitled *******. |

Most of the time yeah, or on the MCC, even in a stacked heavy suit. Just because I use it doesn't mean I don't understand the value of it, I'm not going to be stupid about my uses.
Well most of the time I won't; I did try quick scoping for one match, that was me being fully ********. |

Bugger, you got in before me. But yes, hunting Thales is a hobby of mine, if I see one in the kill feed that's all I'm doing for the rest of the match, I use a standard rifle just to rub salt in the wound (I'd use a militia but clip is too small).
My record is landing 3 consecutive headshots on one in a heavy suit (last shot was on a moving target). I was hard up against the redline... End of match screenshowed he was exatcly 500m (500.25 or something) in the redline.
But OP, please understand, I'm not angry, I don't send rage mail, its just by removing yours from the pool when the market opens mine will be worth more, basic principle of supply and demand.
And as I am yet to see a thale out of the redline it's clearly the "safest" officer weapon and therefore will be worth the most.
It's nothing personal, it's just business. |

Every time I'm killed by a Thale's sniper and I go hunting they've disappeared from the match. One day I'm going to kill them back.

Red line sniping is about the same to infantry as redline railgunning is to a dropship... Kinda lame and makes games boring. |

the ishukone should be the thales. The ishukone is down their with plasma cannon core flaylocks. The thales is the only viable sniper and even it needs like 4 complex dmg mods and proficiency level 4 to one hit kill a militia gallante noob with a body shot.

I actually died the other day because of a thale, and not the way you might think.
I decided their were about 15 seconds left on a match and decided to put my tank away, little did I know i got out pretty close to a friendly thale user, and I also didn't know he attracted a hit squad and a couple snipers and a few proto logi's were coming for him, I think i distracted them long enough that he got away lol. |

While the non officer snipers certainly need a buff, (barring the Charge) even the Ishukone shouldn't be as powerful as the Thale, it would be a bit too much. Crank it up to 300 and I'd be a happy camper, no pun intended.
Instead of using the Thales, Ishukone, or Charge, I actually favor the Kaalakiota Tac. for my sniping needs. Throw that bad boy on a standard Minmatar suit, 2 damage mods, a militia cpu extender, sidearm, nanohive, and I'm set to go. I like to take it and just snipe from the flanks or even directly behind the enemy. And who cares if I get killed, it's a cheap fit, I can lose 3 and still go isk positive. |

I love hunting Thales snipers, because you get a chance of getting the salvage drop  I also like using it on matches where we get pushed back to the red line when I am solo. Love seeing proto suits get busted by it  |
