It is sad it has to be this way, because the promises made would hold great merit, this game would SERIOUSLY rock. I will be keeping up with this years Fan Fest, and will compare it to last years
I'll be keeping up with it too, I just won't believe a single word they say until I actually see it on my system.

Guess they don't want to look bad on a poorly delivered patch looming ovehead... +1 for OP, I feel your pain too. I bet they release it at least a week or two before fanfest. This way they can deal with any odd bugs, the game breaking kind, before fanfest. Then they will roll into fanfest talking about all the work they've done over the last year, like racial parity and new weapons...even though we would know the truth. If they don't roll it out before then I wouldn't expect much from fanfest besides for a white flag of defeat.
I for one think CCP will wait till after fanfest so they can use the hype they create to try and make the patch seem better than it will likely be.
