BPOs break the game, blah friggity blah bulls*hit people like to spout about the economy.
Meanwhile, I've been doing FW for the past few days and only 1 match have I gotten more than 3 items from salvage when they are under 50 clones remaining because they are all running starter fits to keep costs down (they have been putting rail rifles on them, though, so I have a decent collection of those now). And, 90% of what I get is Militia, 9% Standard, .8% Advanced, and .2% Proto, give or take a few tenths.
Starter fits destroy the theoretical economy too everyone. Either make them unmodifiable, or lock them out if you have X amount of isk or SP (though isk seems more reasonable).
xSivartx is my Heavy. There are many like him, but he is my own...

The ISK limit seems reasonable?... this is the quality of people we get in the DUST community, people who can't even see how to circumvent even the simplest of artificial restrictions.
I understand you can easily bypass, just buy a bunch of your fancy sh*t, but, making it SP wise is unwarranted. I know plenty of people with 30+ mil SP that are broke due to what they do (ADS pilots, Proto Scouts, idiots who bet on the dumbest of things). How would you do it? Just say, "oh, you have 20 mil SP, no starter fits, even though you don't have a dime to your name"? You have to have some level of fallback. Make it absurdly low <1,000,000, or something that most people wouldn't be willing to do.
No fallback=a real game over, which is not what Dust needs now.
Yea, you can borrow money, or get paid to.. to do whatever it is PC corps pay people to do (I assume it involves baking pies or something), but not everyone has that option. RandomJoe who plays solo, doesn't visit the forums, and is in a starter corp, but plays regularly is just making it by with 25mil SP and like 800,000 in his wallet because he's so so. Dafuq he supposed to do if he has no starter fits to fall back on?

Frankly 1 pub game can give me from 150k to easily 500k or even more if im lucky and that can pay for 3/4 fully decked proto suits, now we also have the LP store which means i can get proto suits for 200LP and 8k which is super cheap but depending on how many wins you get in FW and what the LP reward is it means you may only be able to buy 2 with LP
PC payout of 2mil can get me so much but if i lose more than i get in payout im at a loss
Essentially proto shouldnt even be used in pubs, the payout alone shouldnt cover it
I think most people agree that its not breaking the economy, mainly because there isn't one to speak of.
And, if you fight for the Caldari, the LP store is only so useful. 3 losses for a proto suit at level 0 ain't gonna fly.

Yea, we have money, so, kind of an economy, but it is just us, self contained. The big deal is effecting the established EVE economy. CCP has pretty much already stated we dust players are bad with money (the changes to clone packs were due, in part, to our inability to understand that people were spamming them for a net loss continuously, or something like that). We buy things from NPCs by definition, not other players, so there is no exchanging of money from one person to anothr for a good, for services on occasion, but not goods (except code trading, which is the only economic thing that really occurs). When that trading thing, which was supposed to have occurred forever ago now, finally comes to fruition, we will have an economy where players determine the price, not CCP. And when EVE pilots start making the goods, then we'll actually be connected.
And when we can trade, BPOs will 'devalue' player made items, as they never run out. That's also why CCP is looking at changing BPOs to create X number of copies of an item a day instead of being unlimited (in which case, having 3 Dragonfly Scouts and a Dren shall come in handy for me).
