Right now the game is filled with scrubs, no-top-of-the-line try-hards, EVEtards, kids and yet more scrubs.
Playing a round is a lesson of frustration and we're all to blame.
Scrubs, well... you're scrubs, I won't blame you for thinking about ISK first and foremost. Try-hards... having fun camping roof tops? EVEtards... this is a shooter, anything EVE doesn't magically transform to shooter mechanisms. Kids... Can't do anything about 'em.
So we have a bunch of people playing for one thing, and one thing only; It's not the winn/loss ratio, although this doesn't come as a big surprise, it's like this in many games. It's not even KDR for many people, a bigger surprise since people that would care about KDR in one game doesn't care about KDR in this game because of this games broken nature.
It's all about the ISK... And I for one don't like it. I hate being one of two or three tops on my side that pushes the objective and plays for the win. But even scrubs these days don't play the ******* objective, and that's their main job!!! Hell, try-hards who were team players in MAG f.ex are now egotistical bastards who camp rooftops and count their profits.
So, this is my suggestion to change it:
- Lower ISK prices overall by a set factor, f.ex a factor of 4. - Introduce BPO's for just about every militia item, and make it expensive but ISK and AUR purchasable. - Stop ALL SP and ISK payouts for the LOSING side of a match - only the WINNING side gets ISK and AUR.
Do this, and watch in awe as the game is being played more as a game again: - Scrubs will do what scrubs do best, namely pushing the objective. - Try-hards will do what try-hards do best, namely capturing the objective. - EVEtards get their satisfaction of playing a "hardcore" game that doesn't reward stupidity as well as a lack of teamplay and skill.
It's the way to go forward with this game kids, and you all know it! |

I'm a little of all. Not quite scrubby enough to be a scrub, not good enough to be a try-hard, I like EVE but haven't played it enough to be an EVE-tard and to top it all off, I have a childish nature.
As for books, try Panzer Leader by Guderian if you haven't already, just saw the Rommel siggy. |
