Please CCP make a Solo portion of your game. Look at the numbers of players in your NPC corps (tal-romon for example has 85,000 mercs). We make up the vast majority of your game, we endure impossible odds, we deal having to fight outnumber at all times, we deal with q-synced Nyan San just shitting all over your game.
We also outnumber people in player corporations 100 to 1.
Throw us a bone.
I play solo and in squads about equal amounts, and thought I'd pitch in here.
I agree (1) is a bit stupid. Shouldn't teamwork be it's own reward? Why does it need an artificial WP boost?
(2) Probably the worst thing about going solo. You're definitely more at risk of getting stuck in an unwinnable half-finished (or worse) game.
(3) Agree, WP should be pooled across 'no squad' players, and OBs given to the no-squad player with most WPs. That way an OB might actually turn a close game rather than just add insult to pubstomp injury.
(4) Higher risk, not sure about higher rewards though?
(5) I kind of disagree on this one. Most of my big (40+) scores have been when solo or in a two or three man squad. If you play with a full squad of decent players they steal half your kills
(6) Obviously...
I don't think a solo mode is the solution. That's contrary to what CCP is trying to achieve, which is a game with a social side that keeps people there - basically facebook but with shooting people in the face.
PS - 95%+ of those NPC corp players don't play anymore or are unused alts. I have about a dozen alts I don't use sat in NPC corps, and only one character in a real corp. The NPC players who do play at all generally play less, and are much less likely to stick with the game or buy boosters than player corp players. Even so, the NPC corp players are the future of the game, so CCP should give them a little more love, basically by giving fewer nonsensical bonuses to squads. |
