So before maintenance today I was in a squad on comms with some random people (Starter Corps/Unknown Corps no one of note in all honestly) and 1 of the players was discussing Modded Pads, where to buy them, the cost, where he got it from etc etc and was actually using it in game .. and talking about how his AR had 0 recoil and how easily he was killing people with it .. and it got me thinking ...
Just how rife is the use of modded pads in this game ?
I liked to think it was few and far between but recently I've had a few conversations in random squads where people have openly admitted to using them and were actually very helpful about how to get hold of them and I looked at a few video's on youtube about COD/BF and how rife those games are with Modded pads and various other cheats and when I look at how many people exploit glitches in this game and how many people flock to the FoTM it really is starting to worry me.
I stopped playing COD over a year ago for this game mainly due to low TTK and the use of modded pads and cheats and it seems that DUST is going the same way so I just want to ask some questions ...
CCP what is your stance on Modded Pads ?
We all know that it is nearly impossible to prove that someone is using a modded pad .. they'd have to admit to doign it and post a video recording off them doing it and make that video viewable to you .. to then be able to report them with evidence
Is it the players responsibility alone to identify cheaters and hackers or do CCP actively oversee the game ?
I'm starting to think that maybe I'M the one in the wrong here for not using a modded pad ..
CCP's options are
1. Do Nothing in which case everyone should go out and buy themselves a modded pad
2. Make all weapons Modded Pad proof (Don't give me 'the SCR is modded Pad Proof .. it isn't')
Modded pad use is impossible for CCP to police which is why nothing along those lines is included in the options |

I don't think it's nearly as rampant as some believe.

I have a controller with hair triggers and finger hooks that i use with my combat rifle.
I use standard ps4 controllers when i'm sniping, scrambler rifle and AR.
I just happen to have the finger hook one because it looked cool and has a better feel, but the sticks are to rigid for sniping and fine movement.
end of the day I don't really care what you use, or what I use, it's only a tiny factor in what wins engagements.

I have a hard time with button mashing because I'm just slow and it throws off my aim with those tiny DS2 knobs. Thankfully I can run with automatics (SMG & ACR). Any time I see anyone firing the burst CR or scrambler pistol and it sounds like full auto I assume they are using a turbo controller. I hope CCP devs break down and buy a few for testing so they can code a nerf for turbo controller users.
There will be bullets. ACR+SMG

CCP should give me +10% damage for all weapons. I think that would be fair. After all, it would only be a tiny factor.

I have done research on Mod Controllers and you will never be able to stop them. No I do not use them, but after being killed by them and knowing that distinct sound I had to do research to learn more. Know your opponent and if you know they are using a mod controller try and avoid them. It only hurts there game play not yours.

You can develop turbo firing fingers. Even if you fail at the game, you still win with the ladies. (Giggidy.)

If you tried to use Turbo in Metal Gear Solid during the torture segment the game would detect it and kill you instantly.
If they figured out how to detect it back on a PS1 game, I'm sure it's not that difficult to program in a detection for it. |

Very easy to detect turbo, it achieves a consistency of fire rate that is impossible by conventional means. CCP just need to allocate someone to write the code to kick turbo scrubs. |

Calvin there is a way. When turbo is on you fire few times with almost same delay between each shoot. The key is to change weapon mechanics. Just add some min time between each tap of R1 button. We are talking about small pieces of seconds. For every non ***** normal human being that change will be unnoticed because they will not break min human reaction time. When time between each shoot will be shorter than fastest normal human move, the system will fire once and then block every bullet after 1st wave.
And please CCP don't say any word when You will make changes like this. Let them cry and be confused.
Oh btw I would like to thank another scrub who made 696 dmg by simple combat rifle in less than sec during cqc.

No, not kick them! This is a much better idea:

Personally Im against modded controllers and hackers, but I can not say how hard or easy it would be to implement in this game. I think it should be something that CCP should look into though, and release a statement saying yes it can or no it can't be done.
