Here's something to think about: Flavor of the month is by design, it IS the endgame content. What else keeps this game "fresh" other than completely changing it every two or three months?
I agree, if the core mechanics do not change every 2 months, then there would be no need for a respec.... period, but since guns become obsolete like the laser has been, flaylock, mass driver... to name a few, to those who have been in game and have no real life and have 30 million SP and up, good for you... Way to have what YOU want and keep the balance on your side, somewhere in New Guinea there was a tear shed just for you... maybe. For other players, having the ability to spec out of skills that are stagnate or completely worthless sounds really good. They may have the skill books purchased, fine its ISK lost, but the game is based off mercs who die and are reborn, nothing realistic about that, so what if a criminal robbed a bank in a theoretical world and rots in jail... This is a game in need of people, and with no testing grounds or PvE, it is impossible for new players to find out their play style, and most likely have put points into dumb skill trees. All of my real life friends have left the game because they got tired of getting proto stomped over and over and they honestly do not want to grind for 6 months for gear that will become obsolete. 3 of my friends left as soon as 1.7 came out because they finally had proficiency 5 on their AR's and the suits were getting close to what they wanted. They just had enough when a std rail rifle was blasting them right to the CRU and their guns were not doing any range. Guess it is what it is. I have less of a life than they do, so I have 5 accounts I swap around with when I get bored to play different suits or weapons, but that is just me. Also a side note to those with a massive amount of SP in reserve and all your core and suit skills where you want, the reason you save SP like that is for the release of new weapons and suits.... Is that not playing flavor of the month that you talk so bad about???? Why yes, yes it is, just you played with the flavor of last month and the month before long enough to get reserve SP.... So quit knocking those who want a respec, it is matter of opinion. |
