For you space monkeys?
For me its the character creation just the vast amount of customization gives me a bone. One of the first things that I look for in a mmo is the amount of me I can put in it. I've quite games many times because of the lack of character diversity.

I'd say it's the sheer variety of things to do, and how there's a need for everything to be done. There's nothing that you can point at and say that it's something that you only do as a noob and outgrow in a month, never to do it again.
Like salvaging...the materials gained from that are needed to build the rigs players put on their ships, which means they're in high demand. You might salvage as a newbie, but if you like it you can specialize and get really good at it. Or mining, or industry, exploration etc. Everything is tied to the economy. This goes for ships too...you might be a 2 year old player, but that doesn't mean you'll never fly a frigate again. Every fleet needs those small support ships and...if you specialize and go for the T2 versions you can be very, very good at that role. |

This.
The lore is absolutely fantastic. It was the biggest draw to my interest when I first heard of EVE and its what has driven me to become dedicated to Dust.

The variety. From ships to actual game content. They variety is what allows you to play by your own rules, within reason.
I would rather look bad and win, than look good and lose.

Vulpes Dolosus wrote:I enjoy the lore. The teamwork is a plus as well. Yeah that. In the early days of W-Space you could get some buds together and hang with the Sleepers. The beauty was even new players could join you and with a little guidance get in on much of the action.
Eve space is so crowded now it doesn't matter if one is in W-Space or K-Space null-sec. The vast open ranges are gone. There isn't anywhere for a cowboy to run his herd, ranchers have all the land fenced.
There's still room for good social interaction though. Plenty of drama in null-sec but get with the right crew and there is fun to be had.
Here, have some candy and a Like. :-)

Eve is massive in every since of the word. I have played for 4.5 years and have only been to a couple hundred solar systems out of almost 10k systems. There are also entire paths I have still not even done like mining, business, trading and industry. Mainly because I like to kill people but there is still a ton of stuff I don't know about EVE. And more stuff is being added with every expansion.
The cold, unforgiving nature of EVE, the PVP, and the fact you are never safe anywhere in the game is what I love most.
Gun control is not about guns...it's about control.
The only way to ensure freedom is by having the means to defend it.

Not playing. But, the character creation is cool. I just don't care much anymore for anything after that screen.

The risk vs. ISK is pretty great. Dust suits/vehicles/gear is pretty cheap in terms of time required to replace them relatively speaking. There is a real rush when someone is hunting you, and you're flying something you really don't want to loose trying to escape. You get that with DUST to some degree, but the fear/adrenalin is so much more intense in EVE.
The teamwork aspect is pretty awesome in EVE. You have friends flying nice stuff who are depending on you to do your role. There is a lot of pressure to stay frosty and not let your fleet down. Asakai was started because one guy clicked the wrong button.
I'm also a big fan of the ship variety. It's so expansive. Everything has a counter (just about) and there is always more to learn.
Best PvE idea ever!
