Just a few days, and you're already a bittervet. im just going off my experience so far bud.. fair play to you for staying with dust this long, i dont know how you did it? iv come from battlefield so its the only thing i can relate to and well... im shocked lol was fun first couple games but there is nothing else to do on this game apart from get "protostomped" or help other corps "protostomp" i like the orbital asspects of the game however
DUST 514 is really fun . . . no really . . . it really is . . . You just have to stick with it for probably about 6-7 months longer till you get your weapon (I'm not kidding), suit and some of your core skills levelled up and maybe just learn to put up with occasionally hating the broken or cracked bits . . . eventually you'll just be hating about one out of 3 games maybe? (Even the super-corp players have to get bored of protostomping everyone they meet.) Apart from the rare DUST Legend, it really just depends both on the general level of the players you're playing with and those you're playing against, and also maybe on the Corp you've joined. I managed to find one I really like after about 5 months, after passing through 5 or 6 others. If you're new to the game, you just have to learn that you have to be infinitely patient with DUST 514, and more than just a bit trusting of CCP and its developers. If you want to know the meaning of "dumbfounded", just you wait till you get one of your weapons nerffed that you've spent over a month and a half or two working on!!!
I put up with the bad bits because the good bits more than make up for them. The game's not in BETA, it's not. It's a mega-complicated ever-growing game. CCP has some sort of a grand-unified-game vision centered on EVE online, their main game. I think that CCP imagines that at some point in future they'll be able to unify these games. (Those orbital bombardments are a pathetic link between EVE and DUST at the moment, in my opinion.) Others have speculated that at that far-off point dusty-mercs will be just another resource in EVE and we'll be able to wander the surfaces of many-a-planet battling drone infestations, or even running other missions, who knows . . .
