Cool idea. How would you determine who is in the top 100 scouts? |

Haha oh ok. I thought you meant top 100 not just people that posted on a thread... I understand that a lot of "top scouts" are listed in that thread but I was asking more or less how someone would qualify as one of the top 100 scouts. I don't necessarily think that the scout registry, at least as far as I understand it, properly rates a scouts from 1 to 100.
That being said I don't think that arranging them in order of total kills/KD/etc would be truly representative of skill. I don't really think the game provides us a way to determine who would be in the top 100 since people use different fittings. Sure, you could say "I use a scout suit 75% of the time" and try to estimate how many of your total kills resulting form "scouting" but I was hoping someone had a better suggestion.
But yeah, I guess it's just a lot easier to assume I've never seen the thread "scout registry" that's been around for a while now in the forums as opposed to actually suggesting something new.
Since I have not posted in the thread I guess I'm disqualified immediately no nevermind.
PS: I don't see why the number of likes someone has means anything in threads but maybe I'm just not as into online forums as other people. |

The old registry was organized by kill count and tracked Kd/R
It was easy tO see the top scouts
KDR does not a top scout make. (Also the Registry did not track KD/R it tracked kills only)
Many aspects of scouting come into play that really don't contribute to a good KDR. It's really hard to measure how "good" someone is when we have so many diverse approaches to a more open game style. Sure it's not hard to see that some players are very good at what they do. I would never argue that mustard, Moody, or any number of other players are not in the top ranks of scouts, but outlining the criteria for what is a "top" scout is not actually all that simple.
In the end any role in this game is rather abstract, which is actually something I find rather enjoyable about it.
Okay I am rambling a bit nowGǪ
I like the OPs idea, and as stated maybe not something to do right now. I see challenges with defining what a top scout is, but that is because of my perspective on what is a scout, as well as my personal beliefs about creating hierarchy, but the spirit of the idea intrigues me. Hence why I asked how it would be decided. |
