In most of my matches, I've noticed that the team I'm on has a general lack of explosives, where the other team seems to have them caked all over the place. I'm a Logi with 1.3M SP. While I should put more points into traditional Logi gear, I believe trading in my Repper for RE's would benefit the team more as I have Uplinks and NI's and rarely seem to use my Repair Tool.
Good/bad idea? Or just have separate suits at the ready?
Edit: Not wanting to max them out. At the most I would just put a point in so I can use them.

I've been running logi since I started playing this game, and I haven't touched a repair tool once. You can do lots with equipment that doesn't involve sitting behind someone and repping them. Don't feel like you "should" be using a repair tool just because you're a logi.
tl;dr: good idea. REs are tons of fun. |

Just make separate suit, I have a Logi suit that I use to spam uplinks and then switch back to my regular assault suit until my uplinks are maxed or destroyed.

If you can find a heavy (or a gal logi stacking plates), the rep tool is worth it's weight in SP.
RE's are cool, but are more situational, IMO.
I would suggest, as Enduro did just above, that you have a number of suits with different loadouts and use them appropriately given the tactical situation on the ground.
All of the above said, at 1.3M SP, I would be more worried about spending SP on core skills rather than overly broadening your equipment loadouts. Keeping things at level 1 won't be too much of a SP-sync, but be careful to not spread yourself too thin early. |

4.9 million and a logi lite. I mainly play a scout now as it is more suitable to a lone wolf, but even then it is as a logistics support. Run the links in and then swap to REs.
Even though I have advanced REs I rarely use them. Only one of my logi fits has them.
I wen through a phase where most of my main suits had REs. it allowed me to change suit and weapons to fit the terrain and opponents whilst still defending the objective from afar.
Just like snipers once the opponents know about them they will adapt ie flux the objective. Ever been hacking and a flux grenade goes off? If I don't see the other guy do it or I am first to an objective I will flux it. It wipes out REs and I have seen hackers sitting in a nest of them oblivious to what they are doing. So REs will make your opponents more cautious which you can use in your favour to slow them down and drain grenades.
Like flux grenades, level one explosives gives you your best bang for buck, pun intended. |

RE's are so fun now it's ridiculous. IMO, being a logi is all about jack-of-all tradesmanship, so diversity is good. I curse the limit on fittings on a daily basis.
In this case, I would base the decision on what you do and who you run with. If you have a lot of heavy's you play with then you need the rep tool first. If not, or maybe for your next move, level 1 in demolitions is not too expensive, gives you a nice toy to play with, and something to even the odds against the protobears. Don't go higher than that, though.

Thanks for the input guys! Going to put a point in but no more than that, then make duplicate suits with an RE in place of the Repper. +1 to all!

I have about 25+ suits that are all logi variants. I used to try and run REs on my logi ( and I still have that suit for special occasions) but I find my scout has way more success with them. Don't let that stop you though, they're addictive!
That being said, I would rather you give up the injector than the repper. As I run with a lot of advanced players, I almost never run without both, but in my opinion, if you don't have a repper, you shouldn't have a needle. Picking someone up just to leave them huddling in a corner till they can rejoin battle or die at the first soul to spot him is not a benefit to the team. Your team would much rather you have left them to die than to have them needlessly die twice in a row because you couldn't heal them up.

EDIT: also, my team full of assaults and scouts always has a needle to get me back up so I can go back to supporting the team. It's very helpful as it frees me up a slot to run repper, ammo and scanner because they have the needle taken care of. You're going to find more people with needles than reppers on the field (because of the starter fit suit has a needle built in).

I mostly play a Speed Heavy. I would chose a triage NanoHive over a Logi with a Rep tool any day. A NanoHive has never once yelled at me or told me I am doing it wrong. Besides, most Logi canGÇÖt keep up with me anyway.

Apparently, you haven't met the right Logi yet. :-) I, for one, have a 'Speed Logi' build specifically to support Turbo Turtles.
