Tanks are to survivable on there own especially at the mlt level. For a team based game thats a problem. heavies need logis to be at their most effective but tanks are pretty much grab and go at this point.
What they need. 1) Blaster turrent rotation speed nerf so that sprinting assault and scout suits have a chance of getting away. 2) Raise the price of mlt tanks so losing one will actually hurt your wallet. 3) Have mlt tanks come with small turrents. 4) only one hardener per vehicle 5) Lower their abilites to self repair to the point where if they want to get back into a fight as fast as they now after running away they'll need to have a logi or supply depot rep them, |

Lets make it where assaults n logis can only run 1 dmg mod or armor plate. Ill agree mlt tanks need price increase and lower pg/cpu. But making tanks only run 1 hardner is about as intelligent as my first sentence

I'd suggest giving the driver the front turret and moving the external view to the top turret. That way it would require three players to operate a HAV effectively.
I'd suggest introducing a Medium Attack Vehicle with a single large turret, no small turrets and a fraction of the EHP of a HAV, and allowing players to petition for their HAV SP to be transferred to MAVs.
I'd suggest significantly increasing the cost of prototype AV weapons. This would include Swarms, which I'd buff the bejezus out of, while introducing active countermeasures (flairs/chaff) to counter them.
Doing this would allow CCP to create truly awesome tanks, balanced by truly awesome AV squads. And the solo tankers can still run around in mobile gun platforms, but with the drawback that they die pretty quickly when they meet HAVs or AV.
3 guys in a HAV > 3 infantry 3 guys with AV > 3 guys in a HAV 3 infantry > 3 AV

I totally agree. Running dual hardeners is ridiculous. It also somewhat defeats the purpose of Higher tier modules with lower recharge times. Decreasing the turn rate on all turrets would be useful and possibly lowering how high the rail turret can tilt or aim in the air, so DS pilots will have a bit more leeway

Or just bring back hardeners with tiered efficacy. Which I think would be a very prudent initial step. Which of course means CCP will probably do the opposite and then immediately take a holiday to celebrate a job well done.

I cant agree with lowering how high the rail turret can aim either. DS already have the advantage of flying over a tank so they cant be hit. Not to mention, a good ds pilot is rarely gonna be shot down by a single rail tank.
