In Dust514 I don't think there is enough incentive in the ingame rewards,or the reward systems are designed to get the wrong results.
Start with the 1st reward: Log in bonus.
What it does? Gives players a small chunk of SP for logging in daily. SP amount raises for each consecutive day upto 6 days then caps out at 6,000SP per daily login.
The result: People log in get their bonus on all the chars....Thats it, doesn't entice people to play dust, just to login daily. I think this was done to booster server stats for active logins.
What I'd do
I would change log in bonus to boost active play rewards. Rewarding players who actively play dust.
Daily bonus
- 2% bonus to active SP and ISK gains
- 4% bonus to active SP and ISK gains
- 6% bonus to active SP and ISK gains
- 8% bonus to active SP and ISK gains
- 10% bonus to active SP and ISK gains
- 10% bonus to active SP and ISK gains + 5% LP earnings
- 10% bonus to active SP and ISK gains + 10% LP earnings
So if a player logs in he gets the bonus activated/upgraded, to actually get the bonus s/he must play. Once you get to day 6/7 you get rewarded for being a loyal player with additional gains to loyalty points earned in factional warfare.
Factional Standings: I do not like the idea that only the winning side gains standings, It is a flaw in the design that makes FW not worthwhile for some, it's bad enough that LP does not convert anywhere near to ISK payouts, but if you are on one of the factions that seem to fill up with airheads and team killers you get stuck earning minimal LP with little chance to gain standings with your factions. (remember faction warfare army play PC and if you are side with them you are garenteed a loss)
I would split it from 100 standing available at start of match, winning side takes 75 points, losing team takes 25. This way even though you didn't win.
Now the LP: It should go:
Standings Level
- 100 points
- 200 points
- 300 points
- 400 points
- 500 points
- 600 points
- 700 points
- 800 points
- 900 points
- 1000 points
That may seem like a lot of points, currently I'm at level 7 Gallente, and thats where I stopped, FW is not worth my time nor ISK. I know a lot of players who do not run FW anymore for the same reasons. (other reasons being the state of the rewards, missing variants, missing weapons and backward logic for certain roles. For my heavy I need to run for Amarr, for my suits - Minmatar for my weapons... oh did I say weapons, I meant WEAPON, no forge guns still)
What doyou think?

I'm gonna tell you what someone once told me...
he said "Corporal, your clear and intelligent thinking will serve you well one day, but not here..."
and then I had to dig big holes with a tiny shovel....
but yeah, I like your ideas.... |

The current system is better than what we had before (nothing). Your proposal is better than what we have now. I'm sure if it were implemented, after a while people would be suggesting more changes/improvements.
"Gradatim Ferociter" as the Blue Origin guys like to say (though it would be nice if CCP could be a touch more ferocious).
