They eventually kick you out of the battle academy, if you are seeing other game modes then you won't be in it anymore. This game is mostly about taking a week or two to get the jist of how it works, and then grinding for 4 months to "git gud" at one thing. Assuming you don't buy boosters of course. If you don't feel like you are improving and keep dying far more than you kill, that's normal. It's going to be an uphill battle fighting players that not only have more game experience but also will simply literally overpower you.
On a side note, as I have seen this with a lot of logis. If you are going logi because slaying is hard, please don't go logi. The game has an over abundance of logis and logi slaying later on is going to become unviable with the slaying potential nerfs to logis coming in 1.8. Yes it's painful, and yes the game gives logis insane amounts of wp for farming equipments, but we need more slayers on teams in general. I tend to see as many Logi suits as I do assault suits which is going to be painful when logi gets nerfed damage potential in 1.8. At best, you shouldn't have more than 4 logis on your team, and realistically that's only if your team has to fight on two fronts. Right now people either go easy mode slaying: Jump in a tank or nominally useful slaying: runs a sniper in the redline, but teams really need players willing to take the objectives.
I would encourage you to roll with the punches and push objectives in slayer roles. You will "get wrecked" most of the time, but clone count won't matter if you can hold the objective and overrun the 2 proto heavy/assault and their dedicated logi guarding it. Though a word of advice, in the first 5 minutes of the match, if your clone count is already at half, I would spawn in your red line and hide or snipe for the rest of the match. We call those protostomps and until CCP adds a surrender vote so that players can end a match and collect some earnings, there is no reason to run your face against a cheese grater.
For the most part you can get about as effective as logis can be by making uplink and nanohive fits with a basic logi and learning where and when to drop them for a teams battle line. Rep tools can be a huge boon, but rarely do I see even proto logis do more than play team fortress 2 and sit on their butt buddy ignoring their team and wasting rep time by sitting on an undamaged target, which is mostly for youtube slayer montages and "hogging the kill feed" behavior. Like I said though most don't go into the logi role because they liked to play the healer/support class in games. They did it because they didn't want people to yell at them when they didn't meet an arbitrary kill quota.
If you are by chance going logi because you do like support/healer classes in rpg games and genuinely want to be a support class, then of course do what you want. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you have fun playing the game. |
