So I'm continuing my travels in 2 days. I only had a PS3 because an acquaintance just kept it at my apartment. I simply happened to find DUST on it and played it on and off for the past year and a half. However, I'm returning it when I leave.
-The game is dying. Sure it's been happening slowly but it's become eerily noticeable as of late. It takes a good amount of time simply to find squads, and corps channels have been small in population. I see and play with about the same 20 or so people when ever I log in.
-CCP isn't really making a case for hope in sticking around. I understand and acknowledge their lengthy road-plan style. But for me to keep playing would mean dropping $200 on another system. Tens upon tens of posts saying, "We're aware of *blank* and working on it" is all well and good. It at least kinda makes us feel like the game isn't just a fun project that will just be left to die as it has been. But as for a vivid game plan, or direct place DUST is gearing to go for, there's not anything for us to really dig in for the long haul about. Just small things added to an incomplete game that still doesn't have anything in it to do beside grind, complain, and drink tears. (Which by the way I'm trying to cut down on sodium intake so the I can't even enjoy tears like I used too. And don't even suggest diet. How dare you -.-)
So I've got less than 48 hours and limited funds not already set aside for necessities. Do I drop the $200 on the PS3 and stick around, or save it up for a PS4?

Yea that's the reasoning that's sticking for me sadly. I still like DUST and if I had a PS3 already I would definitely stick around. But it's just not a smart financial move to buy one simply for this game. I don't want to say goodbye but I simply don't have the cash for 2 systems :(
Best of luck to CCP and you all though. Not biomassing my character just in case I see DUST 514 of PS4. I grinded out about 30mil SP and a half a bil of ISK over the past year. I'd be sitting at a decent start if it does go there. Wish I could stay.

I'll take the encouragement with a grain of salt, no offense. Though unfortunately at least for the time being, it's not a possibility. Just don't have the cash. If I get the opportunity you guys and bet on the fact that I'll see you all again.
Of course if any of you have a web crush on me I'm happy to send my paypal info and you guys can buy me a PS3 to stay xD
EDIT: And yea Fizz I'll stick around on the forums. Not as a bitter A-hole though. Don't actually want to leave lol

The console itself is expensive, games are expensive, playing online requires a PS+ subscription, and there are not many games on the console yet. Also 1st generation consoles tend to have technical issues. Why not get a cheap PS3 now and enjoy the hundreds of exclusives it has to offer? Then wait for a 2nd generation PS4 and a price drop. At that time there will be more games available and the first generation games will be cheaper.
There really is no reason to get a new console now other than for those few launch titles...
...and also I would miss you. yup yup, all this. 1st gen hardware's for suckas, unless you got a metric f***ton of cash and a massive erection for bleeding edge gear.
*sniff* Aww guys.
*Bawls deep man-tears directly into an incinerator so no one can try to drink them.*
Got me in the feels. Alright you win. I'll still be gone for another since it doesn't change the fact that I no longer have a ps3. But when I get settled in my new home I'll pick one up.
And are you sure their doing a second Gen thing like with the ps3? Not sure why they would.
