-The game is dying. Sure it's been happening slowly but it's become eerily noticeable as of late. It takes a good amount of time simply to find squads, and corps channels have been small in population. I see and play with about the same 20 or so people when ever I log in.
-CCP isn't really making a case for hope in sticking around. I understand and acknowledge their lengthy road-plan style. But for me to keep playing would mean dropping $200 on another system. Tens upon tens of posts saying, "We're aware of *blank* and working on it" is all well and good. It at least kinda makes us feel like the game isn't just a fun project that will just be left to die as it has been. But as for a vivid game plan, or direct place DUST is gearing to go for, there's not anything for us to really dig in for the long haul about. Just small things added to an incomplete game that still doesn't have anything in it to do beside grind, complain, and drink tears. (Which by the way I'm trying to cut down on sodium intake so the I can't even enjoy tears like I used too. And don't even suggest diet. How dare you -.-)
So I've got less than 48 hours and limited funds not already set aside for necessities. Do I drop the $200 on the PS3 and stick around, or save it up for a PS4? you should never buy a system just for one game, and especially not a broken game like this, save your money, save for a ps4 or something more worthwhile than this dying game Yea that's the reasoning that's sticking for me sadly. I still like DUST and if I had a PS3 already I would definitely stick around. But it's just not a smart financial move to buy one simply for this game. I don't want to say goodbye but I simply don't have the cash for 2 systems :( Best of luck to CCP and you all though. Not biomassing my character just in case I see DUST 514 of PS4. I grinded out about 30mil SP and a half a bil of ISK over the past year. I'd be sitting at a decent start if it does go there. Wish I could stay. o7
Awe, man, this sucks. Too bad, I always had a great time playing with you. You could always go refurbished:

but if you can't swing it, then so be it. It was fun, hopefully you'll make a return sometime in the future.
Until then, see you around the forums, goodluck and o7.

Jebus McKing wrote:What do you need a PS4 for anyway? The console itself is expensive, games are expensive, playing online requires a PS+ subscription, and there are not many games on the console yet. Also 1st generation consoles tend to have technical issues. Why not get a cheap PS3 now and enjoy the hundreds of exclusives it has to offer? Then wait for a 2nd generation PS4 and a price drop. At that time there will be more games available and the first generation games will be cheaper.
There really is no reason to get a new console now other than for those few launch titles...
...and also I would miss you. yup yup, all this. 1st gen hardware's for suckas, unless you got a metric f***ton of cash and a massive erection for bleeding edge gear.

It might take a while though. You might have to wait 2-3 years. So be careful with your decision. I didnt get a PS3 until the first gen Slim came out (2009, about 2 years after PS3 was released), and I remember even then there were still games being released on both platforms when I switched. The thing to remember is that gaming developers are always trying to max their profits, so during the transitiion period from last gen consoles to the next, they intentionally release games on both platforms to cover their bases. Look at Watchdogs, one of the most anticipated next gen games -- coming for both PS4 and PS3. Was like that during the PS2 to PS3 transition as well. Basically, I only switched when the console price came down, and games were not being released for PS2 anymore. Win/Win for those of us without deep pockets.
On top of that, it takes a couple years for the gaming devs to get used to a platform, to truly maximize it's potential -- look at Red Dead Redemption and God of War 3 on PS3, and GTA San Andreas and God of War 2 on PS2 -- truly stellar games that came out towards the middle/late period of the console's lifecycle, that were possible because the devs knew how to maximize the hardware. There's no rush to be first in line for the PS4, not for my money anyways.
See you after your hiatus, dude!
