There's no modules to make any obscure fittings. There's only a handful of slots available also.
Until we get all the mods from eve plus sone to compliment fps over eves gameplay and up slots to 8 you'll see the same fittings over and over.
We also need midslots. |

I am surprised that so few of you are so unaccustomed to EvE metagame. The API system is really an interesting tool.
I am not all that surprised that there isn't a large amount of Dust data on zkillboard. I imagine there will be in the future when Dust gets a little more important Eve-side. Then it will be second nature to learn to read and analyze killboards. Nobody feel like building a dedicated Dust API website? Please? I want to do math...
Actually, I don't actually know if there is even data collection on that level in Dust. I hope there is.

A fit does not have to be unique or obscure to understand it. In fact its good if it is recognizable and usually "obscure" fits aren't any good. The purpose of tools like a killboard is to recognize fittings and understand why those fittings were used. That allows you to understand what lead to the outcome of a particular kill or battle.
Example 1: You lose a game to team that captures all the points before you get there. How did they do that? The killboard shows that there was a group of them in speed-tanked scout suits.
Example 2: This guy is in the same suit using the same weapon; how is he beating me every time I see him? Oh, he is stacking proto plates because he has a logi in his squad, whereas I am stacking reps and shields to regen locally.
Example 3: I have been dominating the whole game in BPO suits against full proto! How in the world? Oh...LOL they were all brick-tanked cal logis. No wonder they were so slow.
Also, I have to disagree about needing "mid slots". We kinda already have them in the form of the current high-power slots. In EVE high slots are mostly for weapons anyway, so you could say that Dust high slots are actualy HLSGX and the high-power slots are actually the mid slots. In fact cloaks are going to be put in one of those "high slots", just the same as EVE. Shields go into high-power slots in Dust as the do in the mid slots in EVE, not the high slots.
