So I was having coffee with G8bri3l Vectoscope and we got talking about the future of the DUST/EVE merger and how amazing everything will be in 5 years. He mentioned that a Google search for his Merc landed this page where he was identified as a "pilot" when he was killed as a scout on the ground.
It appears that EVE pilots get all the juicy details about whom they kill from orbit in FW matches. I have yet to be killed by orbital in FW this year so I can't find any log of my deaths related to EVE.
This got us wondering:
Does our direct relationship with EVE mean that our stats are proportional to a ship?
and
Is the "Pilot Suit" in the marketplace simply an arbitrary means of identifying our characters for their interaction with EVE mechanics so that things mesh?

Looking at details on frigates tho the HP/shield is about 300/300 (rough), and the PG/CPU are set up like a medium frame. It looks very much like the game mechanics are equivalent for each game, only scaled. Shifting of decimals and such.
It got me looking to see if I could find any official info about the "pilot suit", or if it was all conjecture.

Go find the DUST keynote or the Future of DUST presentation from last year if you don't believe me.
Last time I watched that was just after they posted the vids lol

I appreciate all the thought that's being contributed here, but I still wonder why the kill mail in EVE lists us as "pilots" when we certainly aren't.
(side note: I'm glad to see a woman who identifies herself as such in her sig. Hard to know after reading the fiction)
