hello, i play a point defense heavy & swap between the regular hmg & the burst hmg it seems i do a much better job defending with the burst hmg is that strange or is the burst hmg outperforms the regular hmg for the defense role?

The burst is ver6 situational and for me seems to do best in hallways. It has incredible DPS, it's basically a heavy shotgun.

It's a matter of burst vs. sustained DPS. If you're trying to hose down a hallway for more than a few seconds at a time, the burst is going to overheat, while the regular HMG is still going strong. However, if you just need to kill 1-2 suits in front of you at a time, the burst is going to provide higher DPS. Depending on what kind of damage you need, one will be better than the other. |

I'll run the hmg or assult hmg for most matches, the burst is great for run and gun though as it does greater damage in shorter amount of time. The overheat can be a problem when facing more than 2 enimies

spray and pray is usually the better option for HMG's so i would take the regular HMG.

Boundless hmg is all u need also get the prof up as soo as possible it helps alot lets me kill proto heavys with a mh 82 in my std sentinel although I believe alot of them are just rlly bad

The trusty MH-82 is all I really need lately.
Like others mentioned, the assault and burst are both very good in the right situation, but I'd rather run the gun that's best for the other 80% of the time.
Burst HMG = fattie killer, though. It's very, very good at that.
