I too would go back to chromosome in an instant. I know that must be disheartening for CCP to hear but it shouldn't be. They had a unique product back then. Something that felt different and fun!
I remeber the day uprising 1.0 came out. I stopped playing after the first few matches and thought "What happened to my DUST :( :( " |

I hated chorme so much.
We have a billion better things this update. Once tanks gets brought back down to a reasonable level. Some weapons get balanced, it will be awesome.
Your reaction reminds me of Call of duty players. "Mw2 sucks" *Mw3 comes out* "Mw3 sucks Mw2 is awesome"
No idea on my guns right now. Getting majority to level 3 at least, then deciding.

But what about all the added maps and extra combat modes and PVE and player market and EvE interactions and stuff we've gotten since Chromosome? You'd just throw that away?

lol yea this sounds like the guy who breaks up with a girlfriend only to call the ex back. I don't think chromo was all that great but folks convinced themselves so. If Chromo was given to us now, folks would be upset about the subtraction of so many things we have gained since. Dropsuits, rifles, having to buy a module to have comms, no racial variance, etc.

Dust was the best back then. Its like crack, you can never get that high again. It never stops you from trying though.

This.
Uprising brought a few goodies to the game as well as fixes. Sure, it has miles to go, but it is definitely an improvement from Chromosome from what I hear (joined during Uprising 1.2). |

i can't believe i'm saying this, but i would have to agree with you. in chromosome, this game felt amazing. it was the one of the best feelings i'd ever gotten from a game. now in uprising, i have no idea why i still play this POS, other than the fact that i've invested too much money into it to just leave. every game is just the same proto/tank stomp, with good fights being few and far between.

Another one of these. Take off the rose colored glasses, dude, chromosome was not that great!
- Had to hard reset my PS3 at least once a night
- Got killed by the environment at least once a battle
- Snipers could see everyone everywhere on the battlefield with way better scopes, less cover, and the charge sniper was a STD variant that only cost like 6000 isk. Snipers had it better, I guess.
- Tanks were even more OP than now, they were just more expensive and fewer people used them
- I'm sure I could come up with more given the time.
The only difference is that you had 10 less months during which to become a bittervet. The game was new and exciting. NOT better.

There are things I wish we still had from Chrom, but I wouldn't say that I'd trade all of Uprising for it.
Now, if they could come to a nice compromise between the two, that'd be awesome.

IMO, bring AV back up to its old level instead, and we'll have balance on that front.
On topic: I think Chromosome was a hell of a lot of fun, and that Uprising 1.0 was a dive in both fun and quality. But DUST has been better than Chromosome since 1.4 (when the Research Facility was introduced). It's been progressively better from there.
Then we'll get 1.8... which is going to be both awesome and unbalanced as hell.
