Hardest change I've ever made was my scout suit to a heavy suit. But, I can see the reason why Heavies are so integral to holding a point. It's kinda heady knowing you've got a logi suit behind you with a rep tool while you unload the bullet hose on the guys pushing in to take your point. However, I dislike not being able to jump over a piece of paper. :(
Unfortunately, my love affair with the Nova knives and SMG does not lead me towards running heavy suits often enough to be super effective. Oh well :)
I know. This has nothing useful in it, but it's just my thoughts. |

I know. This has nothing useful in it, but it's just my thoughts. I did it a week ago. And I effective play as both. Scout is for uplinks and rage kills, while the heavy suit is for point defense and 1 on 1 combat in close quarters.

Going from Heavy to Scout is such a smooth change, on the other hand. How the hell can you guys not just kill everything with that speed?! I flanked everyone and gunned em down, heavies and PRO gear a like. SMG + Scout suit = scary. Especially if they have a ScR and use it to one shot your shields then switch to SMG. o.0 |

Fair enough. I adjusted from sniper to assault, then to logi, then to assault scout. It's fun. I'm sure that eventually the heavy fit will work out for me effectively :) |

Scrambler rifles aren't always the best option with scouts. But the one shot to weaken is a good thought. |

Same here, I'm quickly surprised by how quickly I adapted. But man this event is going to be looooong, I suck with an HMG, and passable with a FG. Forge sniping tower snipers will keep me coming back to this fit, only if they allowed a 1.5x zoom on this thing.

I went from a speed tanked Minmatar Scout to an armor tanked Amarr Sentinel.
Of course, I made the switch before armor was buffed, before Heavy suits got the HP buff, and before the HMG was fixed. It was nice to get into a suit/role that wasn't awful. |

Yes the jumping part does suck. Here is how to make the heavy fun. One get an LAV and have a really good driver 2. Grab three heavy friends with HMG's and tank the S*** out of the suits. 3. Drive around until you find a group of reds clustered up. Now reds see LAV they think they know what is about to unfold, but do they really. Drive the LAV as fast as you can right at them, at the count of three all heavies leave the vehicle and begin to spray anyone in sight. Most do not expect three heavies to jump out with HMG's spraying bullets, it so F***** hilarious watching them scatter and looking like sheep. It never fails, there is always those reds that have the look of deer in headlights. Shocked and amazed as three fat guys jump out of a clown car.
For even more insanity, strap RE's on the front and drive it straight at them. Bail and watch the dumb ass's shoot the car, easy +50's all around.

I had originally planned to go into commando suits when they first came out so I've had points in heavy for a while. My Heavy game is in bursts, but I have learned a few interesting tricks that have transferred to my scout game. Over all, it's been a fantastic learning experience. |

I ran reps on you on a match last night, you were holding a supply depot. Not enough heavies on the map to jump in a lav that time. |

If I spec'ed into another suit, it'd be a heavy - I imagine vastly different things will be learnt playin each that would improve your game with both.
It is difficult to imagine what is going through a heavies mind when I face them - its not like facing assaults though, a greater proportion of heavies seem to acknowledge their weaknesses, than med frames.
Med frames are reliably overconfident.
It's why I respect fatties as much as fellow scouts.
You probably don't know me. But next time you get gunned down or exploded by a Valor scout...check the name.

I enjoy coming up against them when I am taking a remote point, some very cool battles evolve from these encounters
It's also fun defending a point as a scout with a Heavy as Backup/Bait, the dynamic that can happen in defence can become virtually unstoppable

Love it! I try to keep an eye on my heavies backs and they attempt to not shoot me in FW when I dart around in front of them to throw grenades. The downside is the insta-blend that can happen by running in front of a friendly hmg without noticing. But *knock on wood* I've only had one HMG death via friendly since they started friendly fire in FW. |
