I'd actually like to see the operations raise the spread reduction by at least 1% per level to make it more effective. And I play as a heavy so most of my experience is from the wrong side of the muzzle. |

Spread reduction as a skill needs to go and instead ADS should decrease spread I hate that mechanic on shotguns in modern day or earlier based games, but that would work for me in the futuristic setting of Dust. Aiming down sights activates a choke. Sounds good. I'm not sure what could replace operations though. |

Shotguns in 99% of games are unrealistic, and balancing games around realism is a terrible idea Operations should be +5% ROF per level Proficiency should be +3% damage per level Hey now, I'm 100% in the camp that while games that attempt to base themselves as much as possible on reality have their place, Dust is not one of them. But there is nothing wrong with using reality as an influence to make mechanics feel natural. ADSing a rifle giving a tighter spread feels good as it's more stable, and other stuff like that. Everyone has a pet peeve and the shotgun thing is mine. All games are unrealistic, but everyone has a different level as to what they want, everyone to their own. Like I'm happy with the ranges on weapons in Dust for balance purposes as unrealistic as they are.
And saying shotguns in 99% of games are unrealistic is a fairly broad statement. Of course they're unrealistic, they're in a game! But some come very close to real life without stepping over the line and I find them fun for that fact. |

With that, the base range needs to be increased. Going by that reasoning, since there have been heavy shotgunners attempting to assault me for as long as I remember the shotgun should have had an increase to range ages ago. By the way I'm not saying a shotgun heavy is good, although my ring does tighten up when they spawn beside me |
