I turned off Dust this morning because of lag and really bad technical issues. I locked up three times, got a black screen load twice, and was automatically thrown out of my own squad and out of the game I was leader of while waiting for a match to start when I was told "DUST 514 Internal server error. Please log in and reconnect and attempt to join matchmaking again." All of this happened in the span of about 2 hours.
Why, almost two years in are we still having these technical errors? I'd love to know why these have cropped up recently. I've played Dust for 3/4 a year now and I have never had the problems I've started to have the last two weeks.
I've been patient with this game for a really long time, but all of this constant locking up BS that has started within the last two weeks is starting to get really old, really fast. Thinking of going back to Borderlands 2 for awhile until patch 1.8 hits.

It almost seems these problems started around the time CCP started working on matchmaking "fixes".

Mine came from early this morning. Was on from about 9:00-11:30 CST and that's when I lagged. I first noticed today's in the matches themselves, as I was using ScR. Using that rifle with lag is not a good mixture lol.
Given the fact that Dust already has such a reduced player base from what it was, I would think the amount of lag would actually decrease, not increase. At first I thought it might've been my PS3 or internet, but I went over to Borderlands and played online games, never lagged or locked once.

Those were fun.
On rare occasions if I still use the market too fast and restock things on fittings, and if the suit picture in the center doesn't load before I buy extra gear, it still locks up. Have had that happen several times.
I'm sure the voice comm glitch would have been fun. Was before my time I'm sure, or before I started using a mic at least.

Yeah, I don't understand it. For months, I maybe locked up once or twice that I can remember. The only black screens I would get was if I spawned in and sometimes I wouldn't see anything right away for about a minute.
However the last few weeks have been very infuriating. Just all came out of nowhere. Usually I don't have any lag at all, or if I do it's very brief and resolves itself rapidly.

This is because there are more people that will have a compatible connection to yours. In Dust, the small player base means that you are sometimes forced to play across three continents and that tends to give a real bad lag session.
I've been in squads with bad latencies. However the guys I was with this morning from my corp are east coast. My friend that I was running the squad with is from the same state I am even. It probably didn't help though that a lot of the matches I played in were against Dust Brasil and other South America corps.

A lot of them actually do have a very poor gun game. I often find myself dying to many because I don't do any damage to them when unloading a burst of ScR shots with a red crosshair, but get two hitted by them or die from someone I can't see lol.

Now today wasn't anywhere near as bad. I was on all morning and early afternoon. Never even locked up or even lagged until right before I got off. Still a mystery lol
