I was going to say 3 if we were talking about fully integrated PVE - with salvage that can be sold in the player market or used for maufacturing (dust or eve side), PVE/PVP where people can come and ruin you missions and steal your stuff. PVE/PC where district owners need to deal with drone infestations etc. etc. etc.
You know something though - even a horde mode for minimal isk gets a 3 at this point.
You probably don't know me. But next time you get gunned down or exploded by a Valor scout...check the name.

It is entirely possible to incentivise PvP so that people actually do it - would you play PvP if you could earn more SP there, for instance?
Player count could potentially skyrocket as well, which has a positive effect on PvP counts to balance it out. Tank spam and proto pub stomps too bad? You can still play dust - but there's somewhere to go.
Additionally, the opponents hardly have to be 'easy as hell'.

Also, I can't be the only one that can find AI trickier to deal with than people - just like in fighting games, the fact you can't deceive, bluff, bait or otherwise lure an AI into a sense of overconfidence is major handicap for me.
Though if all reds fought like Arkena I'd be making a very different statement.

to have a legitimate p2p market we haveto be givin the freedom to travel to what ever location in new eden we wish without freedom to travel th market would only be concentrated in the few stations we currently inhabit and only accessible to the players within said stations just like in eve. |

Depends on how they implement it. If PVP was guaranteed steady income like it is now and PVE generated money only based on random drops and a changing erratic economy based on the dropped resources then it would be much more of a gamble. Especially considering that you could LOSE PVE and gain nothing. PVP would be the steady go-to game mode with PVE being the fun alternative with potentially better rewards given the right set of circumstances, but those rewards would be time dilated due to the economy as opposed to instantaneous like PVP would be.

It has been said LOOOOONNNNNGGGG ago, that if/when PvE comes to fruition, there would be NO SP given for it. Which whine if you want, solves the PvE in a PvP game issue quite annoyingly for some, but stupidly effective.
Also, it being an ISK faucet, would lead to more scrubalubs running proto, so more suits destroyed, more ISK in matches,more non-useless salvage in FW, more tears generated.
Its really kind of a win-win....if it would ever happen.

PvE needs to give rewards though otherwise it's an incredibly unsatisfying experience. If it was up to me I would have PvE give the same amounts of ISK with about half the SP we get in PvP, then up the ISK you get in PvP by about 1.5x.
PvE should be low risk, low reward.
PvP is high risk, high reward.
Neither of these playstyles should have exclusivity on SP or ISK. |
