Yeah I got out mine and popped 6 enemy Rail Tanks and assisted on 4 others.

MLT tanks not so much though. Sure they CAN but typically a good OB drop will hit after the hardeners turn off. And yeah you can tell that from the overhead map.

Sometimes they don't react quickly enough. It does happen.
I placed one the other day, nabbed the Madrugar pilot who had just dropped his hardeners, got out to recall, his tank, and his Onikuma that dropped in.
