I was sick of all the tanks, so I put a cpl SP into forge gun operation. Went to the market, bought a few breach FGs, and found a match of domination already in progress. Found an enemy tank, ducked behind a hill to charge up, went to leave cover and.... I was frozen in place. You can't move while you charge or hold a charge and move to get a shot. When you find a target you literally have to stand still in the open for four seconds while your gun charges.

That's about the only way I get a kill on a tank anymore. I've completely shelved the now useless swarm launcher and have taken to running almost exclusively with the assault forge.
As it stands now, I've become so disillusioned with the 1.7 tankageddon update that as soon as I drain my last remaining Arum, I'm gonna say byebye to the Eve Universe. |

A squad has 6 people in it. That's 12 forge shots in about 2 seconds. Pretty sure that'll kill a tank pretty easy.

A squad has 6 people in it that is 5000 Rail Rifle shots that will be put into your squad every 2 seconds you all are running forge guns.

Yuup. Wiyrkomi breach forge + complex cardiac regs + 2x comp dmg mods = trololo, hop freely in and out of cover while taking out 80% of a unbuffered/unhardened Gunnlogi's shields with a single alpha shot. Finish off with AV nades and call it a day. It's not as good as multiple assault forges and hardeners are still god mode if you're not fighting an unbuffered shield tank, but damn is it fun. |

Yeah, for a few seconds.
It also means you just destroyed a tank, which is quite a bit of fun. You're also left holding assault forge guns, which are still pretty dang good against infantry.
Besides, you don't need 6 people to take out a tank, 2 or 3 will do. And with how prevelant tanks are, there's usually 2 or 3 of them rolling around... which means your half a squad in AV is roughly equal to their half a squad in tanks. Furthermore, where are your teams tanks? Put 3 guys in tanks, and 3 guys in AV taking out the opponent's tanks. Now you've got double the anti-tank power they do, and you've got the same level of "tank stomp" they do.
I just get tired of seeing people whine about things that everyone has access to, and everyone is more than capable of handling through in game means. It's not like the game is designed so that one team has access to tanks, and the other team doesn't. Both teams can put tanks on the field, and both teams have to deal with tanks being available.
So, even if we assume that it takes a squad of 6 to take out a tank, doesn't that mean your opponent is also being forced to field a squad of 6 to take out your tanks? If not, then with tanks apparently being so OP as you guys are implying, isn't your team just mopping up the opponent while you are destroying their tanks and they aren't destroying yours? I'm just not following your logic here, please help me understand.
Could tanks be balanced better? Yeah, definitely. They should defnintely have their acceleration and top speed reduced. I would say, however, that their eHP would be just about perfect if it wasn't so easy for them to escape. |

other than nos tanks i have no problems with tanks themselves. they are tanks after all. there just needs to be a cap on how many are available during a match. not one per player, as there are people like me who dislike the vehicles, but certaintly no more than 6 per side per match total, with a mandatory cool down period between tank drops. say 60 seconds between drops or so. |

Meh... Just let them be. They're here to finish off the job that CCP has been too squeamish to do themselves - kill this game. If you ever played a game where they gave enough of a **** to fix things in a timely manner because success was the goal, then you'd know that this is intentional and working as intended.

You guys can't solo a tank with an assault forge? I'm pretty sure I managed to lol1shot one the other day with my Ishy, and my DAU eats MLT scrubs alive. A decent STD tank will likely take two guys to finish, though. Don't both need to be forgers, a swarmer will do.
Basically - get gud.
Happily printing ISK with permahardeners and MLT blasters.
Just let me get a couple mil more before nerf, CCP!

Easiest AV for me is to just pull out my particle cannon. Two to three shots to militia tanks or even standard if I can get the drop on them and they're gone.

I think I annoy my squad mates when i make a habit of pulling out my protoswarms killing tanks and saying on comms "omg swarms are so under powered!" the AV options aren't as bad as ppl think, many just suck and blame the weapon, Altina is a terror to face with a forgegun, always has been. |

If you ever see me run at you and suddenly start shooting at clouds or some random direction this is why. In fact, if I kill you at all you should hang your head in shame and feel very bad about yourself. |

Yer gonna run a squad with six forges in it? Well, yeah. That will light up any tank. But all those raspberries running assault rail rifles or Duvilles or any light gun or rifle... It's murder time.

Try the regular or assault variant. You can move while charging them. Wait what.... you can jump on the breach forge? Yuup. Wiyrkomi breach forge + complex cardiac regs + 2x comp dmg mods = trololo, hop freely in and out of cover while taking out 80% of a unbuffered/unhardened Gunnlogi's shields with a single alpha shot. Finish off with AV nades and call it a day. It's not as good as multiple assault forges and hardeners are still god mode if you're not fighting an unbuffered shield tank, but damn is it fun.

I had no idea I didn't have to invest sp into forge guns to get the assault forge for killing tanks man I got jipped. I didn't realize me and a few other miltia avers could kill a militia tank that wasn't asleep or in the battle academy!
The old tanks were fine the only problem was that adv and proto tank hulls weren't out yet. This 1.7 band aid was put in place claiming to remedy the fact that they couldn't ramp them up... but what could an adv and proto tank be that wouldn't make them broken when it takes a team of adv and proto av to down a militia variant?
CCP pretty much worked themselves into a corner, there is no way this can end without QQ the only question is which will keep them a larger playerbase, pleasing the tankers or pleasing everyone else? |
