Put out the game they told us they had; on PS4 (where the new money is).

And that probably won'tchange for at least another year or two. Really? This is the first time that I have ever heard that. Ever. No, I'm not being sarcastic at all. OK, maybe just a little... By my calculations they have about 7 months to make it happen before 80% of the few remaining players move to higher ground. Good luck monetizing the game on an outdated system played primarily in third world countries. Really, good ******* luck.

Far too man ypeople think that the PS3 is suddenly not worth it anymore just because a newer system is out. I really don't understand it. The PS3 hasn't changed a bit. It's games haven't changed a bit either. It's still a great console with a very good lineup. Something the PS4 can only dream of currently.
Most of the time I only hear from PS4 users that they aren't using it because of a lack of games and instead play PS3. I haven't bought a PS4. I'm broke and waiting for the trustworthy second gens to roll out.
But you just summed up the problem. People that are still here after Destiny is released on second gen PS4s, will remain because they aren't capable of funding the endeavor - or this one, either.

You assume that everyone here wants to play Destiny, and apparently want to play it exclusively. Not quite everyone. But enough. I assure you. If this game can survive 2014's Q4 fiscals, it will be solely populated by fanbois and a few impoverished kids without mics. History repeats itself, itself.

Last Of Us is going to kill Dust. Planetside 2 is going to kill Dust. Battlefield 4 is going to kill Dust. CoD Ghosts is going to kill Dust. GTA V is going to kill Dust. PS4 is going to kill Dust.
Yet here we are. Dust has killed Dust. We may still be here now, but there are so many just praying for the next thing to carry them away. If you don't see the population decline since Xmas, you must be blind. I don't care what Eve.Offline may claim, I see it. Deserted channels, corps cut in half, etc. Hell, you can even carry a decent conversation in Local Chat. I don't know why I feel the need to discuss this ad nauseum, it's pointless. Time will prove me right. I have seen the cycle more times than I care to remember and won't be the last chump here hoping for Nullabor to shoot rainbows out of his ass. This game is ******* done. The sooner you accept it and plan your Exit Strategy, the smoother the transition will be.

Hell, I'll make you a deal - Should Dust cease to exist by the end of 2014, I'll send you pictures of me sticking my **** in my ear. It's by far not a great game, but it's definitely a one of a kind.
Screenshot this post so I can't edit it later. Really, it's not that important. I love your optimism. It's almost inspiring. But, I live in reality. I've been gaming for >30 years. This game is circling the drain. You don't have to believe me or like what I say. I know the signs of a failing concept when I see them. The change in EP was several months ago and still no defined path, by their own admission. No sense of immediacy, no profitability, under the veil of secrecy and outright deception. You can stay as long as you like. I've done it on a dying game or two in my day. Problem is that when the day comes that you finally wise up and get that next big thing, is that everybody is already waist deep in new content and miles ahead of you in terms of progression. It's not a fun position to play from. I will be asking you about that pic next time around, so keep it handy. GG [/thread]

I like how your '30 years of gaming experience' allows you to somehow forecast a project's downfall as if sitting on your ass and playing games gave you sage-like insight into the future of a work in progress still in its infancy. It's called experience. When you eventually have some, you'll refer to it.
