Carthums Scrambler pistol for pubs.
The PC and SL should fit into the Sidearm slot so it's accessible and practical to carry one.

The Viziam is such a dead-sexy weapon, that even lol-spam of the assault scram can't measure up to it.

Yes.
It was changed to Vizam because of the Amarr LP store's item prefixes, which use the term "Imperial."

They could've just used a different prefix or descriptor (royal, sovereign, whatever) in the LP store, but it's fine I guess.

In terms of raw burst, the Viziam is going to dispatch enemies quicker.
That said, the aim assist falters inbetween shots with the Viziam, whereas it tracks continuously with the Carthum. Against a brick opponent the Viziam is probably a better bet, but against a fast mover you will probably have more success with a Carthum. |

Talent hasn't much to do with it. if your enemy decides to intermittently strafe in random directions you will not track them no matter how talented you believe you are. Your prediction (not reaction, prediction) has to exceed their movement, and you cannot read minds.
It is impossible to do consistently, therefore other factors come into play such as luck, chaos, and whoever starts with more HP when the first shot is fired and the strafing war begins.
When you take the Viziam route, you are banking on one of three factors giving you the edge. First is that you are going to charge around a corner/flank them and blitz them down before they can react to your presence. The second factor would simply be that you are at range, where the Viziam is stronger, and therefore gives you the best damage possible in that kind of engagement. The third beneficial factor would be that you are in a tight corridor that does not allow for a lot of strafing, thus tunneling all of your DPS onto an enemy that cannot avoid it regardless of their speed.
Now, if you take away those beneficial conditions you are left with a situation where absolutely every shot missed is kicking you in the ass thanks to heat buildup, and your enemy can evade you much more easily thanks to the aim assist not favoring the Viziam over the Carthum.
..... but let's be real here, if all you're doing is pub stomping the Viziam is totally the way to go. I mean hell, You're gonna one shot most scrubs with a charge up anyway. |

With every other race of gun I would say it's very situational. However with these Amarr rifles they really did things right. It pretty much comes down to playstyle and well in my opinion lazyness. Both are great at long range. The Carthum is much better at CQC but the Viziam is much more of a professionals gun. It takes time and patience to learn. The payoff is much higher. Both are dangerous but the Viziam is deadly in the wrong hands

Full auto weapons are usually more popular in PC due to the horrible lag, and they dont punish you as much for missing a shot or two.
Also, I hate Carthums, my number one hated weapon in the game.
72 Round Magazine, only overheats on the second mag, and as a Shield tanker it rips right through me.

I like my Imperial overall. However if I'm in extreme CQC with lots of reds in a complex I'll use my Carthum. Killed 30 of them in 3 minutes once from the tabletop one match with it

Vizium on an assault I prefer the Carthum for my logi. I have to admit I'm afraid of using a regular ScR without sidearm back up.
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

I'm with Ati on this one. I like to 1-2 shot most suits, but the Carthum is generally more useful. Especially when heavies come from behind corners with a Boundless and a logi.
