'The rules are the rules', with a change the rules, it's only fair you allow players to put their houses in order. Please advise at the nearest opportunity (exact details of suit differences need not be decided for this).

why should their be respecs at all? because the people who trained into the best possible suit suddenly find themselves not as competitive as people who were SO EDGY as to train into something that wasnt #1 but suddenly is until the next rebalance? EVE only receives respecs when a skill is completely removed, because if every major rebalance warranted a full respec, people would ONLY have the new "flavor of the month" trained, and CCP would therefore have too narrow of an equipment usage spread to accurately rebalance, meaning their next rebalance will yield yet another FOTM with more respecs and more people all training for the same thing. respecs are bad, you chose something because it was powerful, now its no longer powerful, learn to deal with the people you spent dumping all over in pubs because they dared to train something sub-optimal being better fitted until you train it yourself. TL;DR, respecs are given out way too much in DUST already, self-entitlement has reached critical levels, people need to learn to deal with it and ACTUALLY train into new modules instead of CCP patting them on the head and letting them move all their SP into the new shiny **** without time or cost. I did not choose Minlogi because it was powerful or 'the best possible suit'. It has never been FOTM like Galogi or Calogi. I chose it because I wanted a relatively fast suit with the ability to carry uplinks, hives, and a scanner, and quick hacking.
But then with the reptool bonus they suddenly change the PLAYSTYLE of the suit to walking slowly behind a heavy.I don't play EVE, but it's like taking a ship that's made for interdicting enemy space and changing the bonus so instead it's specialized for spider tanking.
The self-entitled people are the ones who are happy with the 1.8 changes and are trying to gain a competitive edge by having the effects of PLAYERS' CHOICE replaced with the effects of CCP's random changes to suit playstyle. Why should they get an edge over others just because they won the lottery of suit roles? |

Some people are just too dense to realize nothing stays the same forever, get over it. some people are to dense to understand what eve and dust is about. get over it. |

So your suit has been rendered completly incapableof fitting code breakers, or you skilling into the hacking skill? You know you can still be fast, still carry uplinks and still do everything else, you also are gettign a fitting cost reduction on those uplinks so you may even beable to fit the rest of your suit better. A nerf to your hack time dose not = total role revamp. No ones forcing you to slow down, no ones forcing you to even fit a rep tool, you will still be the fastest Logi with a very balanced slot layout. Seriously stop the QQ

Respecs at this stage in the beta are essential. If CCP can lay down a proper foundation, only then can we start acting like anyones decisions have any weight outside of roleplaying

even though i dont know what QQ stands for, i agree with the rest 100% changing the rules is changing the rules, this is why respecs happen. this doesnt come down to the most powerful suit as some would have us beleive (evidently this is their own motivation speaking here) many of us have stuck to our roles and will continue to well after 1.8
to claim there is value and investment in the skill tree would be made a mockery by rule changes without respec.

fact is, if people put more fo their SP into support skills, and didnt do the stupid thing and advance their suit/weapon skills past the need for advanced variant, they wouldnt be impacted NEARLY as hard as they are. primary group of people whining and bitching trained straight for proto and are buttmad they cant rofl-stomp anymore.
and minlogi WAS FOTM for a while, it had an insane flexibility on the battlefield while keeping the ability to apply/mitigate damage, hell, most logis were like that. |

um, i think the idea is you can spend skill points on what u like... and further that when investments are pulled for whimsical or planned motives (ccp) most players would like their whimsical or planned investments liquidated - its not crying, its being clear what we want. |
