Can someone plz clarify the answers to these.... I think I have it right, but am wondering...
What would you qualify for in the following conditions, cause I'm confused on whether or not WEARING a Heavy Suit and killing with a NON-heavy weapon does anything.
Basically you ONLY get anything if you either: (1) kill someone with a heavy weapon (2) kill a heavy suit
Logistics - Sniper Rifle, kills heavy == (A) Heavy - Sniper Rifle, kills heavy == (B) Heavy Suit - HMG or FG, kills heavy == (A+B)
LEGEND (A) USE heavy weapon = 500 SP + proto weapon (B) KILL heavy suit = 250 SP + ISK reward (A+B) USE heavy weapon to KILL heavy suit = 750 SP + proto weapon + ISK reward

Summ Dude wrote:How would your first scenario be "A" here? A Sniper Rifle isn't a heavy weapon.
A guy joined my squad and was running a heavy suit with a laser rifle all day. I asked why he wasn't just using an HMG for the bonus points with the event, and he said that just wearing heavy suits qualifies for some bonus. I was saying that I am more than certain that it didn't work that way and he stood firm in his statement, so I just came to ask if he knew about something I didn't or something.

CCP Cmdr Wang wrote: Thanks for the feedback. The grind element is there for this event partly to encourage players to play more. However, I also understand where you're coming from, to some, this could seem to be excessive. The idea is to give players a big SP bonus, so we set it to 750K. The feeling of it being a grind is in the SP per kill amount.
If we set the SP reward to say, 1000 SP per kill for the next event, that would effectively cut down the kills required to reach the cap by half. So, instead of having to make between 1000 to 1500 kills, it would be around 500 to 750 kills. I am open to discussion on this, so let me know your thoughts.
We also agree that progression tracking is sorely needed and are negotiating with the development team to up the priority to make this feature.
Why not just make the kills 1000 / 500 instead of the 500/250. Your already counting the kills and such, and it's not like anything has been rewarded as of yet. No matter what choice you make, people are going to complain about it so why make it where the skilled people make all the SP + ISK when the new people you are encouraging are the ones that need it more just to be able to have fun? At least this way it's more of an even playful where everyone has the opportunity to max out if they play at least a decent amount. Some people have lives outside of gaming and don't have the kind of time that people living in their parent's houses or people that own their own businesses do, etc. (no disrespect to any of them, as I own my own business so I'm speaking in favor of others).
I might seem like I'm complaining and want easier points to some people who look for the worse in a post to complain about, but I am getting over 150-300 (10-15 kills per game) kills a day easily, as I try to max out ASAP since I don't know what I will end up doing in the course of the week.
I think people often forget that this game is not MANDATORY to be played, as there is no obligation. I can understand people voicing their opinions, but I wish it was done moreso in a professional manner than people whining all the damn time. I mean wow... if this game disgust you THAT much... quit playing it. You can easily UNINSTALL it just as easy as you INSTALLED it.

I received:
SP = 217,000 FG = 1x 'TorchFlare' Kaalakiota Forge Gun (which is cool cause it's not in the Market. ;-p) HMG = 269x 'Steelmine' Boundless Heavy Machine Guns (sounds about right, but could've sworn I capped) ISK =
One kill for me was equal in ISK value to me losing 10 or 15 suits with the setup I had, so 1 or 2 kills a game put me in profit regarldess. It would seem that I killed much more than that, as I had some days playing ALL DAY (morning to night and beyond), but I'm not so concerned about it, I got 'something' that I didn't have to get for my participation.
BUT... what I AM a bit concerned with is the accuracy of the scripts for future events where I might actually wear REAL suits of value instead of all the militia crap I was running just for the event, lol. The progress tracker really needs to be incorporated before the next event starts to negate all issues, and we can always screenshot the records and have our own log of what we should be getting as well as know how soon we can go back to our normal play style after completing the task, etc. Or maybe even make weekly / daily events that people can participate in.
I would like a few more Forgre Guns though considering there was one game where I got like 9 kills in a row within 2 minutes with it. Either way, I'm still going to continue playing so it's whatever.
